Flounce construction

Instructions very clear.

But sewed myself to the carpet…

Well, if Sol burns out suddenly, yes, I suspect the board will follow shortly thereafter (although not immediately) - allowing us a little bit of time for threads like “I Pit the Sun for Wussing out on us. Bye all!”

Otherwise, I can totally see a bunch of Post-Humans on the Legacy Historical Mindlink 10^umptheenth generations later going on about how LAME 21st century humans were, and if they had just gotten around to developing proper entropy-reversal research instead of yelling at cheeto-faced baboons, that they wouldn’t be stuck watching the Sun go out and making them move.

Or I could be maudlin and say next month when the board gets a shutdown message, and we all take the 2 week notice to pit the heck out of the owners/operators and rest of the world for not realizing our unspeakable greatness.

The Pit will always live on, in our hideous, twisted human hearts. It’s what makes us great!

I propose that a poster flouncing, and then quietly coming back later, be referred to as a Circular Flounce.

Circular flounce

You can make a full circle or a half circle, depending on the amount of flare you’re looking for.

And for that matter, some of the other terminology can also be co-opted.

  • Double layer flounce: repeated flounces within the same thread
  • Spiral flounce: a flounce where the poster complains of mistreatment, but then goes on to demonstrate exactly why they are getting grief from posters as their racist/assholish/trolling behavior spirals out of control

This changes everything.

Isn’t it rich?
Are we a pair?
Me here at last on the ground
You in mid-air
Send in the flounce

I was singing along with the first line. Well done.

Except I hate that song. :rage:

Is a half-flounce a thing! A flouncette?

Demi-flounce.

If I make to leave and then come back, is it a semi-flounce?

I should think that slamming down a snifter of decent cognac, and then leaving in a huff would be a Remy-flounce.

Something I could easily see myself doing.

Eric the Half a Flounce

Are all your pets called Eric?

Do you then miss the person only semi-carnally?
