Hello!
I got a new job today! The long and short of it is:
I got let go a few weeks ago from my job due to scheduling conflicts. It’s not my loss, believe me.
I got a tip about a company looking for a part time (which is what I work) network admin. By the end of the interview they agreed to my wage (DAMN I shoulda asked for more) and asked if I could start tomorrow. Yow! I was so shocked I almost fell over. It’s for a small manufacturing company and they have about 15 users or so. Perfect! La, La, La! Life is good!
woooohoooo Zette good for you. It’s about time we started getting some good news on the board. First Falcon and now you. Congrats and I hope you love your new job.
…And I realized “Hey! I’m in CHARGE of all this stuff! There’s no one to ask but ME! AAAAAAARRRRRGGGGHHH!”
In other words, a typical first day for a Network Geek. They gave me a groovy office with a window (one of the only ones in the whole building) and a nice oak desk, so I’ve got that going for me. Oh, and every single person is completely clueless about computers, which believe it or not is a blessing. They seem like they’ll just leave me to my work. People like that usually figure that whatever you do is magic, and they don’t want to know any different, which is good.
As one of those people who thinks it IS magic [please don’t disillusion me now!] treat them gently, the computer slow need all the patience they can get!
