Poetry in Motion - Today's MMP

{{{{{FCM}}}}} I was a bit worried about him, I admit. Nice guy, but kind of…immature. Good Lord, if my (imaginary) in-laws had offered to build me an apartment, I’d be doing anything I could to help! I hope somebody manages to put the fear of God in him about stepping up. I wouldn’t want you that mad at me!

I hope FCD has a whole lot more luck finding a teaching job.

I’m sorry TPC’s interview didn’t work out MOOOOOOM. :frowning: Here’s hopin’ one of those other places pans out. Oh as for the SIL if y’all do physical harm (which he deserves) please post pics.

Aww, so sad that the teaching job wasn’t a good one, FCM; hoping that your daughter will be able to find something else. I don’t know what to say about the SIL, though - he sounds deserving of your wrath!

I am so glad that it’s the weekend! I left work at noon today and joined my daughter in a trip to the maul, where we hit Jo-Ann’s Craft store and got a lot of new yarn. I’ve already started on a new crochet project! Tomorrow’s adventure calls for a trip into DC to Georgetown, where I haven’t been in many a year. I need a few things from both Trader Joe’s and Whole Foods, and there’s one of each in Georgetown, so we’re hoping to hit them early in the day, then possibly have an ice cream cone before returning home. We’re going out with our insulated tote bag, cause I know I’m going to get some of those Mediterranee yogurts from Whole Foods.

Hope everyone enjoys their weekend. OMG, Mick Jagger turns 65 tomorrow!!! Grandfather of three, they just said on the news.

It’s Firday! I give you the gift of me being nasty to Abby and the Annies!

Well, I’m caught up, and I’m still miffed at SIL. Dunno if I’ll see him tonight, and he’s working tomorrow morning till 1. Before bedtime tomorrow, we will talk. I really need to get it out of my system tonight, or I won’t sleep.

I wonder what’s the chance of him being abducted by aliens??

I’m home at last, thank goodness.

FCM, it sounds like your SiL needs a good whap upside the head with a couple of clue by fours.

I’m sorry the interview didn’t turn out, FCM. Here’s hoping one of the other schools or districts will have something.

It’s most definitely toasty outside. I didn’t realize how warm it was outside until I went home today. The AC in my office had been turned to Arctic Winter level. I was sitting in there wearing a freakin’ sweater!

I guess I should get some dinner going. I’m not hungry but I’m sure the hubby and son are. My daughter is at work until 11:00 pm.

Oops, gotta go.

Hmmmmmm… any farmland nearby where there could be some “crop circles”. Ya never know what might get “arranged.”

Concert stArts in 20 minutes!!!

Very psyched!

Sorry bout SIL… he needs some growin up :frowning:

Nearby farmland? Sweetie, I live in the heart of Amish country! There’s farmland all over the place!!!

I read and recall almost nothing–how is that? I read and think, I’ll say something to X or about Y and when I hit reply, my mind goes blank.

Mika–that is truly terrible and they are creating very bad karma for their future lives, if I understand things correctly. Poor lady. :frowning: I agree re India–just because you’re proud to be from a certain country and love it doesn’t mean you don’t see the flaws and the problems etc. Why, America springs to my mind…
Another dreary day–it was Friday, which is my sucky day of the week. At least Blondie was there–I love Blondie. I call her Blondie here–that is not her real name. She is salt of the earth, just good folks. She is with us temporarily until she is off light duty. Damn.
FCM–I hear ya, but also think that newlyweds should not live with inlaws from either side. Also, I think your expectations differ from his (and probably your daughter’s). Maybe you should approach this issue from that angle instead of the whole “you’re a lazy ass bum and we want to kick your ass to the curb”. After all, who do you think daughter will choose, if it comes to that point? Just my 2 cents. I’ll go piss up a rope now.

I’d love to have an exit interview someday, but fear future repercussions–most fields are fairly small, when all is said and done. Plus, I know they won’t listen in nursing–but that’s a whole forum!

Whew! So glad it’s Firday! This has been a long week. My to do list at work was twice as long when I left this afternoon as it was on Monday morning. My co-worker is losing her mind over our two main programs over the next few months. I’m trying to plan the spring programs already, so we keep getting tangled up in Fall 08 and Spring 09 or wait did you mean Spring 08?

The cat and I both visited the vampires yesterday. I haven’t heard back from the vet but **my **liver levels have all but one gone back to normal. And my cholesterol is back down to normal, too. Now if the vet can just figure out why Skunk has lost 25% of his body weight since last April, we’ll be all set. (For $300, they’d **better **figure it out.)

I am finally feeling normal and happy again. I was even singing at work, which is good for me, (it means I’m happy) but bad for everyone else, since I can’t carry a tune in a bucket. I really wonder if whatever-it-was that went after my liver caused my depression? Whatever, I’m just glad to be feeling like life is an adventure again, rather than a torture chamber.

Aw CRAP! I just met a new security guy, and he’s handsome, and nice…and married. Crap crap crap. For about twenty seconds there I was thinking, “How YOU doin’?”

I SO agree. This is exactly the problem that is going on with the SO’s brother and sister in law - they are either living with her parents or his. It’s going on 2.5 years now that they’ve been married and they have lived with either parent the whole time. The relationship has not had time to mature, and they don’t know if all of the storms are really theirs or just tension because they are forever living under someone else’s roof. Eek.

That’s awful about your aunt, Meeks. SIL needs to grow up, FCM. Glad the leg’s better, Mork.

Cleaned lots and lots and put stuff away. Also did laundry.

Need to get up earlyish, so I guess I ought to actually crawl into bed…

Happy weekend, all!!!

GT

Home, dizzy, tired.

FCM, sorry about the daughter’s not job. Look on the bright side, at least SIL was,'t screwing the mud holes.

Soapy, enjoy the concert!

Nice snark, Spaz. Hope you get your aid.

OMG she rocked. She is one red hot rocker. Three hours and she had the stadium on their feet.

Tired now.

Hi night shift…

Two people with that much drama would make the world implode.

You got that right, buster!

~waves hi to Lunch~

:sends a big hug and kiss:

Here I am. . . waiting to hear all about the concert.
Mork, so do you want me to kiss it and make it better?

Your leg, I mean. :stuck_out_tongue:

Yeah, didn’t think so.

OK, well . . . sending more healing thoughts your way. I’ll ask for stronger ones this time.

Look out! The night shift has arrived.

::hides the key to Room 304 then scampers off::

Hehehe … okay, where is that pesky Night Shift?! SpecialOne, Dotty, Haze?! GT, I know you’ve got a full day ahead and hope you’re getting your rest tonight. Dunno why I’m up now except that I slept earlier. Oh, I finally remembered what I wanted to ask Haze about! There’s an episode of MAS*H where Col. Potter lets an elder Korean man, formerly in the cavalry, ride Potter’s horse. The man’s granddaughter brought him and she kept calling him what sounded to me like “Abougie” which I took to mean “grandfather,” and so that’s what I wanted to ask, what the Korean word for Grandfather is. LOL Hope that makes sense!!

Happy Weekend!

:hunting down Herbs to get the key:

Don’t start without me.

Herbs, the word for grandfather is hal-ah-boh-jee; the word for father is ah-boh-jee.

I’m teaching one class today and then having dinner with friends. I also have a scrape on my right leg like a clumsy eight-year-old who fell off her bike. Except I didn’t fall off my bike, I fell off the escalator. :smack: Ouch.
