Poll...how will DJT fare with COVID?

I posted “other”. Trump will be quite sick for a couple of weeks but then claim “fake news” “it was no big deal”.

I wish we could allow posters to add choices to the poll and maybe change votes if they later saw one they liked better. There’s an option to end the poll and I think maybe set a deadline to finalize it. Then we could judge how well we predicted.

I guess I could have given more choices, like,

He will die from it and they’ll say so.
He will die from it and they’ll say it was something else.
It will be horrible, he’ll survive, and he will say it was terrible.
It will be horrible, he’ll survive, but he will play it down (fake news, etc.)
It will be moderately bad and he’ll whine for sympathy
Etc.

Well, posting ignorant ideas does not lead to anyone believing what you posted.

Narrator: Yes, he did, falsely.

Though Trump repeatedly blamed the Obama administration for leaving behind an empty stockpile and falsely took credit for restocking the ventilator supplies, he said on more than one occasion that the U.S. had enough ventilators in the weeks following the pandemic declaration. In the April 7 press briefing, Admiral Brett Giroir, assistant secretary of HHS, said that the number of ventilators is not a “number that we give out” but said that there were thousands remaining in the stockpile. Trump quickly added that there were 9,000 breathing machines.

In an April 8 Tweet, the White House said that it had shipped out 8,000 ventilators and had an “additional 10,000 ready to go.” An op-ed written by Vice President Mike Pence added that the SNS “hadn’t been refilled since the H1N1 influenza outbreak in 2009, and it had only 10,000 ventilators on hand” in March — an inadequate number given the extent of the pandemic — but that by the June 16 publication of his piece, there were more than 30,000 ventilators in the SNS and that the administration was “well on [its] way to building 100,000 ventilators in 100 days.” It appeared that the Trump administration initially recognized that the ventilator supply was inadequate to respond to the pandemic, but failed to supplement the limited inventory despite promises to do so.

Ever the optimist, I picked option 1: Suffer and die.

My guess as well. Tho I wish him the worst.

He will survive because they caught it in time and get him medical treatment right away. Medical teams have come a long way since March when they were simply guessing how to treat the disease. They know when to administer antivirals. They know when to ventilate. They know the progression of the disease. They have experimentals in case all else fails. It sounds like he’s probably in for a fight these next 48-72 hours, but I’d be stunned if he deteriorates too much beyond what is being reported (coughing and some breathing trouble). No doubt, he will feel like shit and probably have low energy for at least 7-10 days, so we probably won’t see much live footage of him. But he’ll be back on twitter before long, I think.

Not at all funny. The worst thing that Obama did was once wear a tan suit. The best thing that Trump did was get Covid-19.

One can’t “blame” the existence of the pandemic on Trump but he sure is to blame for the pi*s poor leadership he’s shown over it. Now he’s got a bit of a taste of his “Kung flu”.

So has mine. So what? If the amount of money in your account is how you evaluate your own worth and how well Trump has done, what do you have to say when he knew how bad this virus would be and thought that his best tactic would be to ignore the consequences?

Whether you like it or not, character matters. Republicans no longer have the right to say that they are pro-life. They do not give a single shit that 210,000 lives have been lost. Trump knew he was sick when he had the super-spreader event in the Rose Garden. Do you honestly thinks he actually cares about regular Americans in his path?

Trump will be recovered enough to move back into the WH in one week.

I got no idea. I voted what I hope for.

Cons: His age, his weight, his diet.

Pros: he is getting the best medical care on earth, and I’m sure that includes a lot of highly expensive experimental therapies that the bottom 99% of us wouldn’t see.

He will be fine, and back in office working to deprive endless millions of americans of basic health care in no time.

“he will return better and stronger than ever, and will smite his enemies and lead us all to a new age of peace and prosperity.”

[Sorry, that was a horrible job of quoting]

I’ve honestly never been clear on the definition, but is this an example of “trolling”?
“Trolling”? (I dunno, is it supposed to be capitalized?)

Does “us all” include his smoten enemies?

If he does not die from Covid, then he will emerge like Monty Python’s Black Knight – seriously incapacitated but comically refusing to acknowledge it.

He’ll recover, which will support his claim that the virus is no big deal, and he was right all along.

In light of this, it’s POSSIBLE that his illness is a hoax. His doctors’ statements are confusing at best.

I’ll wait to see if he really has it. If so, his outlook is not good, given his age and state of health. Given the number of celebrities that have died, evidently even the best medical care is no guarantee of anything,

BTW, what happens if the Republicans suddenly do not have a candidate for the election?

Depending on which head of the Beast he may be we have this:

I still think he went downhill too far too quickly to have a minor case. He may survive, he may not but I think he’ll be dead in days. But I won’t believe it until a coroner comes up to a microphone and sings “he’s not only merely dead, he’s really most sincerely dead”.

From what I understand, the treatment has gotten much better than the early days, and he should have the best treatment possible, so I suspect he will survive, even with his age and weight.
