Poll...how will DJT fare with COVID?

It’s been a while since I’ve read anyone with the temerity to make the “my 401k” argument.

I don’t know exactly how bad it’ll be, but it’s likely to be bad. He’s old, fat, and has poor health overall.

One might argue against that, that he has the best healthcare possible, but that’s not exactly true. He has whatever health care he wants, and has doctors whom he can browbeat to guarantee that. Which means that if the course of treatment he demands is megadoses of quinine and intravenous bleach, that’s what he’s going to get. Huh, turns out that sometimes there are downsides to being an idiot-- Who’d have guessed it?

Yes, how much of his own BS does Trump actually believe? Did he really take hydroxychloroquine, instance? We know a Trumper who got his doc to prescribe it for him and his wife, and they survived it, so it’s possible. But was it ever confirmed that Trump took it?

If Trump is truly Mr. Anti-Science, will they propose treatment that he’ll decline because he “knows better” or because it would make him look weak? Could he bluster his way into shooting himself in the foot? Or will he fall in line with the medical establishment like the hypocrite I’ve long assumed he is?

If Trump survives, goes back to the WH, and later claims he got bedrest and that’s all he needed, would doctors step up and say, “Not true, Mr. President, we had you on a ventilator…” etc.? Then the cronies bleat “Four legs good, two legs bad!” to drown out the truth.

According to what his doctor has said, his treatment so far has been stellar, and way more aggressive than what you or I have access to. The only real question around that is whether he denied being sick to his doctors, and so delayed the start of treatment.

He’s had remisivir (or something like that) which ought to be most effective if you take it really early, ideally before you have symptoms. (Like tamiflu.) Most of us have no chance of such an expensive treatment before “conservative approaches” have been tried, but he could have, if he was tested every day and was honest with his doctors and allowed himself to be treated.

He had the experimental monoclonal antibodies. They really ought to work, although again, earlier is better. You and I have zero chance of scoring those if we get sick this year, but the theory behind that treatment is very strong, and the early testing has been promising.

Huh, I see that they help more if you don’t mount your own antibody response, and also helped less for old fat men. Maybe I’m being overly optimistic.

The other treatments he’s gotten have been things that are very safe, things like supplemental oxygen, aspirin to reduce the risk of blood clots, and vitamin D.

Honestly, much as I think his rapid recovery would be bad for the nation, I am rooting for the medical care, because I hope that the rest of us will eventually have access to that level of care, and that it will save millions of lives.

Dream on.

Now we know what his price for loyalty is.

I haven’t touched mine all year. No changes and no added funding. Still not back where it was in March. Still short by about 7%. Not a good metric if thats what you are gaging your loyalty by.

So Trumps handling (or lack of) of the pandemic has literally lost me 10’s of thousands of potential dollars. Joe should remind people of this and hang it on him, his watch his problem.
