Polycarp will be offline indefinitely :-(

Thank you, dear.

I just want to say that during this season of giving, it is amazing to see this happen. This is how I have always thought the world should be, people in need getting it and people able to spare the extra giving it. This is absolutely beautiful. I only know 5 dopers in person and that was only for 2 hours, and I don’t email or IM anyone regularly. But still, after reading this and thinking of what a great gift this could be for Polycarp and family, I knew I had to do it. Truth is, we can all spare a little, without giving up any luxuries, and if we do we can make one have a necessity. Because of our efforts, we can really help a person start the New Year off right, and with a great oppurtunity to make this year much better than the last. It feels great to be a part of this community.

Polycarp, good luck on your job interview!! I’ll be praying for you and yours. And what a Happy New Year it will be!!

Best Wishes,
Marissa

Honey, if you email them, I am sure that they will send you your password. If not, Melissa has my address. Poly will still need help to get back on his feet, even after Christmas. Really, it doesn’t matter…the love you all have shown is going to make his Christmas marvelous.

It is best not to send monitors thinking they will be worth enough to make any money out of them. To complete a system is one thing, but a used monitor isn’t worth much more than shipping.

And yes, there are other needs. While this need is great, so is the other.

Steven, if you want me to send Scotti the money, I can. I think I have an open PayPal line to her.

Poly’s back! Poly’s back!

By getting back here ASAP, of course.

[sub]Is anybody else thinking of It’s a Wonderful Life right now?[/sub]

Yes, minty green, I have been.

Now, three cheers for Polycarp, the richest guy in Dopestown!

You guys are awesome.

Scotti, mine’s on the way to you via paypal.

Poly, all the best to you and your family. God bless.

It’s been a good day.

I am happy to help out.

Polycarp, good luck in the employment search, and Merry Christmas.

I suspect that many people are already away for the Christmas period and may not check in over the next few days, so I wouldn’t be at all surprised to see our current total double during the next week.

Look at the inspiration for the activity in this thread and you will find the source of our awe:)

Sorry, just had to say that.

I had some trouble with PayPal tonight, and am waiting for them to resolve my problem. Worst-case scenario, I fix it myself when I get home and donate on Dec 31.

Wish I could have done it NOW, though.

Melin has had the fortune to meet the Polycarps in person. We are definitely in, and will be sending our contribution to Scotticher via PayPal.

I’ve rarely been so glad to be wrong.

I’d like to help, but I won’t use Paypal (I’ve been burned by them before). I can send 50 €. Think you could get it converted to $?

Phoenix

If Scotticher can’t, I can. I’ve got relatives in England who used to send me money for my birthday. Talk about a way to make an impact with your first post!

CJ

Of course, England doesn’t actually use Euros. The islanders are sticking to the ol’ Pound - for now.

Good to see you back, Polycarp!
