What graphics card do you have? Is there an AGP slot? If so, I could donate an ATI All-in-wonder 128 card with TV in/out. It’s a good (but not great) card for gaming, and the TV thing is really neat. I have all original cables/discs. I’d be willing to send this in lieu of a donation. I was just gonna sell it on eBay. One thing, I probably won’t see your reply before Sunday 12/29. I can ship on 12/30. If this is too late/not needed, just let me know and I’ll send money.
I think that at least a partial update might be appropriate at this point since people are still working on a car, and I reckon that Poly himself will be in soon to give more details.
Poly and Skull now have a car as of late yesterday. They owe some more money on it, and the amount that other Dopers are contributing here will help in that regard. Edlyn and I, when we visited them, tried to ascertain the scope of their needs. They said that once they have a car, have it paid off, and have some funds upon which they can rely until they find work, they will be in excellent shape.
Do you know how much more is owed on the car? Also, do you know if there is a need for a second car? Mine is too far away for me to drive it to the east coast. If cash is needed more than a second car, that’s what I’ll do. I’ll check back tomorrow.

I spoke with Polycarp just before I left for my family Christmas celebration in Seattle, and he said the 13" monitor was just FINE and VERY appreciated…he is totally overwhelmed by all of this, and doesn’t want to impose anymore than (he feels) he already has…but I think that, if you aren’t using it and it works and you are kind enough to ship it to him…I say we should GO FOR IT!!! I agree completely. But you have to understand, he is stunned by the outpouring of love and help, and doesn’t want to…oh, you know what I mean. Maybe impose isn’t the right word, but I can’t come up with a better one.
