Work day is almost over. Work week is almost over. YAY!!!
There’s a major production of a musical in my city. A locally-well-known singer was in it, but can’t be in it anymore due to injury. Amazingly, they managed to find a new singer who can learn the role in just two days! And the new singer is… my roommate!

Emily, congrats to your friend! That’s so exciting!
Mooommm, a sundae sounds good right now. I could go for some hot fudgy goodness.
I think tonight I might try making mug cake with my daughter. I found a recipe for a simple vanilla mug cake. Maybe, since I’m craving something fudgy, I’ll make a tiny batch of microwave ganache to pour over the mug cake.
Romeo is making dinner tonight. It’s either going to be homemade biscuits and sausage gravy or pan bagnat, a really tasty French tuna sandwich. Like a nicoise salad, but on a sandwich. I love being married to a chef.
Juliet, enjoy dinner! And good luck with the visit. 5 Year olds can be pretty tough…
Midget, does that mean she’ll be practicing in the house at all hours??
Mooooom, sounds like daughter and SIL are doing their bit to help around the house. That’s good, helps keep the peace in the family.
Except for a short shopping run, been a quiet day. Finally got the on-line banking account change straightened out, so I can check my credit cards after the 17th (the old site is going away). 93F outside so do not plan on anything active outdoors, maybe water the lawn tonight if there is no rain.
According to my daughter, SIL did most of the scrubbing. He found spots that I didn’t know had been peed upon, so good job. Now I need to treat the carpet so I can shampoo it tomorrow. Good times.
**FCD **just called - he’s caught in Baltimore’s rush hour traffic. I suggested he pull off and get some supper, and I guess if he sees a good option, he will. He should definitely be home by 8, so YAY!
Guess I should get to my chores. Dammit.
IT broked my 'puter earlier today; couldn’t even sign on so couldn’t even sit there & surf the web. I came home; at almost 4pm they said I’d need to go back into the orifice to get on the (wired) network to fix it as I can’t sign on to get to the VPN. :smack:
That will happen in the AM…when I was going to be irking from home.
In other
news, I didn’t realize what tonight is until prolly to late to go; it’s Manhattanhenge tonight & tomorrer (but I have plans for tomorrer already).
Gotta wait until next year (& hope it’s sunny*, too)

Just finished dumping almost a gallon of the enzyme de-urinator in the dining room and down the hallway. I’ll have to buy more.
Tomorrow, I’ll remove all the furniture from the dining room, except the hutch, and steam-clean the carpet there and down the hallway. I wish we could open the windows, but it’s gonna be too hot. Dammit. Oh well.
Howdy Y’all! We supped up the leftover brisket and veggies. I had quality cee-mint pond time today. All is good. Tomorrow I shall not sloth. Well, not all day. I shall mow the yahd at OYKW’s place early tomorrow mornin’ and tomorrow evenin’ shall head over to the church house to assist with front forty mowage. Sattidy will be back forty mowage. All three zero turn mowers are workin’ right now, so yay for that!
Heh, I can handle it. She’s practiced when I was asleep before and I hadn’t even noticed. (She knows I’m asleep because my snoring is loud enough to be heard through a door. :o )
Irkweek almost done. I likely will be there all day tomorrow, as we’re doing damage control.
Well, I survived another day of canning. A friend dropped off some more cucumbers, this morning. So, I turned them into 9 quarts of dill pickle spears, for him.
My daughter, and I, went to meet ThePeachTruck, and I got 50 pounds of Freestone Peaches. It’ll be a few days before they’re ready to can, though. They ARE taking up some much-needed room in the kitchen, and I’ll be glad to get them all canned, and on the shelves, where they will live. I had hopes of canning them on Tuesday, but my friend asked me to take him to the dentist that day. So, I’ll have to do some maybe Monday, if they’re ready, and some on Wednesday.
The evening is winding down, and I’ll take my daughter to work in about two hours. Then, I get to come home, and go to bed. I’m draggin’!
My friends: telling about their jobs, trips, successes, etc.
Me: trying to survive another night of heat with a headache, trying not to vomit, having no job, it’s too hot to work on music, and wondering why I get sick so much.
Ace, at least they’re freestone peaches instead of cling.
I just dropped an ice cube on the kitchen floor and am having fun watching Nelson use it as a hockey puck.
**FCD **is home. YAY! I shall be heading to bed soon because I’s tahred. Wonder if I’ll sleep in tomorrow??
Not likely, since my circadian rhythm is pretty stubborn…
I wish I could just get to sleep at all.
Not much chance of me sleeping in, because the renovation noise starts early. It’s not even that it starts at an unreasonable hour, just that I can’t get to sleep at a reasonable hour anymore.
Have I mentioned that this is the most gross name for an MMP that I have ever seen?
:dubious:
I must admit that my autobiography shall be entitled, Dog Poop and Wet Leaves.
How does your roomie handle the heat? Does your roomie have an a/c unit? If so, it’s not right, not letting you have one! You have to start cooling down, because it’s not safe for you to be so hot all the time. You should talk to her about paying half the electric bill, so you can get a small unit for your bedroom. I wish you the best, and I hope you start feeling better soon!
missred, yes! I’m thrilled that they’re Freestone! That’ll make cleaning them much easier.
No, my roommate has no AC. Though I think her bedroom is a bit cooler than mine.
I’ll buy it!!!
I’m a lifelong Kansan. I’ve spent some time out of state, during the military and for a job. But I’ve never liked summer, the heat and the humidity. I’m really melting this year, it seems to get worse as I’ve aged.
Last night the Koine Greek class I’ve been taking had it’s last regular lesson. We’re taking a few weeks off, and then will become a reading group, starting with the Gospel of John. This was a difficult class, and I probably would have got no better than a C or C- if it was graded, but I’ve enjoyed it. I’ll never be fluent but I’ve learned some history along with the grammar, and am looking forward to the fall reading.
Good morning, everyone. Happy Firday the 13th.
It’s going to be another hot, humid day, in my neck of the woods.
This morning, I have to go get some groceries. Also, my daughter has an appointment to get her first tattoo. So, I’ll be going with her, for moral support. It’ll be a good time to catch up on a little bit of reading, while I wait.
I’ve decided that dinner will be a nice pot roast, with potatoes, and carrots. That’ll work.
My husband will be coming home, from his two week OTR stint. It’ll be nice to have him back for a couple of days. We’ll have a nice meal, and be somewhat lazy all weekend, since it’ll be too hot/humid to even bother doing anything outside. He’s a model rocketry guy, and he said that it’s going to be too hot to go to his event, in Champaign, Illinois. So, we’ll just stay home, and be hermits. I’m good with that.
Have a great Firday!
