Pop Tart Question

Now lemon sounds okay

I gotta say that lemon would be most excellent, my friend.

I think you’re on to something here.

Let me know when they’re available.

Now would be good.

I’m picturing poptarts filled with my mom’s lemon butter:
gooey, sweet, thick…

like me, only tasty.

I vote yay for the lemon poptarts.

I’m all for combining the best of both worlds: lemon pop tarts (or toaster strudel – even better!) drizzled with fudgy chocolate sauce.

Chocolate + lemon has become one of my favorite flavor combinations. Try it!

Lemon Pop Tarts could be acceptable (after all, they are called tarts), but why not apricot?

Well, if one were a resident of the Greater Philadelphia area, one could avail ones self of one of the finest delicacies ever spawned from a hot oven- a nice fresh Lemon Tastykake Pie.

Petit, neat and OH-SO sweet, the Tastykake Lemon Pie is a wonder to behold. The light flaky crust, supporting a delicious creamy smooth lemony filling. I tell ya, at two for a dollar life does NOT get much better than this.

This time of year, you can get a Pumpkin Tastykake Pie. ** OH YEAH BABY !!! **.

Cartooniverse… yeah, my dad loveslovesloves Tastykake Lemon Pies. I’m going to tell him about the pumpkin ones, because I bet he doesn’t know.

Then he will love me better than my sister. Hah.

Lemon Pop Tarts!!! Lemon Pop Tarts!!! A sweet-tart Pop Tart!!! A hot lemon Pop Tart!!!
Pop Tart good. Reality Chuck bad.

The best stuff is Pillsbury Turnovers… YUMMY. According to a friend of mine, they are even better nuked after they’ve been refridgerated after baking.

Mmmmmmmmm. Lemon Pop-Tarts…Mmmmmmmmmm.

A thought:

  1. Pop-Tarts advertise that they’re made with Real Smuckers Fruit.

  2. Smuckers just bought Jif from Proctor & Gamble.

  3. Peanut butter Pop-Tarts.
    mmmmmmmmmmmmmMMMMMMMMMmmmmmm.

So does my dad. At one time, he was living in an areas where he couldn’t feed this addiction, and wrote TastyKake to ask them where he could find them.

TastyKake sent him a CASE of lemon pies! You would have thought he won the lottery.

Oh yeah, I’m all over this lemon Pop Tart thing. Only I think I would like them with regular glazed frosting, so I could have that sweet and tart vibe going on. Yellow sprinkles would also show up better on white frosting.

My Pop Tarts don’t usually make it to the toaster, btw. I love that gluey, cakey texture of a raw Tart.

Raw tarts are the best. When you toast 'em, the filling gets too hot and burns when you eat it and then you spend the rest of your day using your tongue to scrape skin off the roof of your mouth and that’s a Bad Thing.

And i agree, plain white frosting for the lemon.

I’m thinking either no frosting at all for the peanut butter, or chocolate frosting for that Reese’s effect…

Y’know, considering Kellogg’s hasn’t been doing too well lately (cereal’s not exactly a growth market), you’d think they’d be rushing out new flavors left right and center. Instead, they give us -

pop-tart sticks.

“Um, y’know, Mr. Kellogg, those of us who buy Pop-Tarts either have used knives successfully in the past, or have mommies or daddies who have done so. And either way we can have our big Pop-Tarts turn into long thin strips that have filling on the sides, instead of plain pastry, mmm?”

Disgusting.

Ok, I had held off on the peanut butter Pop Tart proposal earlier, because I was too excited and nervous to post about it. But that would truly be the gods’ own ambrosia come down to us mortals. Chocolate frosting, absolutely. I think I would vote for no sprinkles, unless they had the kind that are like little peanut butter balls, similar to the ice cream topping. Frankly, I would say chocolate pastry as well, because there is really no limit to the amount of chocolate you can combine with peanut butter.

If this product were marketed, I might very well never eat another thing again, because I would be perma-gorged on peanut butter Pop-Tarts. The NY Dopers would have to have a Pop-Tart intervention – I wonder where they would send me to dry out?

First, about the pop tarts: I’ve had a “thing” for the cinnamon ones for a while, and recently took a liking to the cherry ones. They seem to taste better un-heated, at least to me. I’d like lemon, I think, but probably better as a toaster strudel!

OMG, Tasty Kakes! They are -the very best-!! Especially the lemon pies!!! And the pumpkin ones are indeed a close second, believe me! The only thing is, if you’re not close to the Philadelphia area, they might not be as popular in your area, and hence the ones in the store won’t be as fresh! :frowning: Fortunately, I’m just outside of DC, so Philly is close enough that they’re fresh here. I cannot believe, though, that some folks actually prefer Hostess fruit pies over Tasty Kake!! Talk about blasphemy!!!

Toaster Strudel? That is heathen talk where I hail from! I cast thee into the fiery pits of evil, Pop Tarts knock-offs!

Lemon Pop-Tarts sound good. I think that would be the only flavor that I would enjoy eating. In general, I can’t stand eating jelly. Lemon and mint are the only flavors that oj jelly I like.

Mint Pop-Tarts sound good.

Lemon Pop Tarts sound quite tasty…and the peanut butter too, only i would want peanut butter and jelly, and not chocolate. I would get enough of my chocolate fix with the Fudge, Smores, and chocolate chip flavors.
