What Exit?: I’ve looked at the thread you linked to, and brazil84 seems to me to be making a perfectly reasonable argument in support of the OP’s contention (that “Given Mr Gore’s personal total energy consumption, giving him the Nobel is ridiculous.”) - in fact he virtually echoes what the OP said.
If you think that’s a specious argument, that’s fine. But to describe brazil84 of ‘shifting the debate away from the actual debate’ in that particular thread just doesn’t make sense.
Consider the source. In light of that I would not consider this a real pitting. And if you stop telling us about Thailand I for one will be pissed.
No worries there. 
Well to each their own opinion then. But as one example I recall he tried to drive the debate for a long portion of the thread into the silly side piece about the office Al Gore keeps. I won’t rehash the debate here though.
Seriously, if you actually care, read his debating style in the numerous Global Warming threads to start. If you don’t think he is devious then we will have to agree to disagree.

**brazil84 **has a long, long history of climate change denial and sophistical argumentation, which several dopers have done a heroic job of refuting (and pointing out **brazil’s **dishonesty). Even if the thread What Exit? linked to isn’t a prime example, **brazil’s **dishonesty is well-known to most people who hang in GD.
Debating **brazil84 **is like debating lekatt, except that I think **lekatt **is genuinely stupid and can’t help it. **brazil84 **is more likely just dishonest.

No more “stupid” than various other usernames which are taken from biological classifications: Pseudotriton ruber ruber. Granted, you may feel all such names are stupid, but there’s nothing inherently more stupid about pseudotriton’s name.

I noticed that too. He seems to have quite a detailed history of people here when he’s only been registered for 6 months. . . not saying he’s necessarily wrong or anything. It just seems like a pretty short time to determine all that stuff.
I noticed that about several people on page 3 of this thread. . . joined just this year and already have very strong opinions about lots of people. I’m bemused.
