I understand she’s also a cum sucking slut, although Google Images hasn’t delivered. Le sigh.
Boris, my darlink, I must disagree with you. There was nothing remotely innocuous about this. It may not have meant “Will somebody kill this uppity little shit that’s stealing my moment already?” (although I am a huge believer in the unconcious having enormous influence over hte conscious and at this point, Hillary as behaved so disgustingly that I do not find it remotely unbelievable that some part of her that she would never acknowledge even to herself would be thrilled if that exact thing occurred), but it didn’t have to. As so many have pointed out in this thread, as KeithO in his bleeding hearted hyper-sensitive histrionic way has pointed out: it is the ultimate in straws breaking backs. E-Fucking NUFF, lady, you have proven beyond any doubt how UNfit to lead this nation you are by a long string of words and actions that this just tops off spectacularly.
It was either a jaw-dropping display of breathtaking cluelessness, or a jaw-dropping demonstration of breathakingly craven ambition. Either one stamps “UNFIT” on her forehead.
Love ya, but you’re wrong on this one.
Yeah, I’m willing to give her a pass on this. The thing I’m not willing to give her a pass on is insinuating that Bill did not have the nomination wrapped up until June in 1992. The nomination was his weeks earlier, and the campaign season started a lot later, too. So no, Hillary, your husband didn’t drag out the campaign as long as you are dragging out yours. I really don’t care how long you run, just don’t treat us like a bunch of idiots by throwing this type of BS out there.
Hey, you want to call her selfish, self-centered, narcissistic, fake, politically tone-deaf, calculating, cold, a liar, or just plain clueless that her campaign has gone past its expiration date and doesn’t just stink but has now begun form a sour curdled mass that gallumps out of the plastic jug before it slithers down the drain … any of those may be fair game. But yes insults that focus on her gender, with crude imagery or not, are in and of themselves offensive, let alone at least as harmful to the general campaign as Clinton’s inappropriateness.
I expect more from this crowd.
Sometimes I think she just doesn’t know what the truth is. The truth is what she makes it, you know? If she “remembers” Bill’s campaign for the nomination dragging out until August, well, then, it must have, right? RIGHT?
It will be like the Fired-While-Landing-in-Bosnia thing…she “misspoke.”
She’s a cunt, too.
d&r…
Sure it’s racist, but not sexist. Let’s stick to apples and apples.
The difference in view seems to be whether the insult in question is simply a gender appropriate insult or a gender demeaning insult. If you believe that it is simply gender appropriate, the comparison to using “she” vs. “it” is accurate. If not than not. Personally, I think of the word “bitch” as simply a gender specific version of the words asshole, jerk, or really bad and undesirable person. I don’t see why referring to her as a bitch is any worse than calling Obama a dick or either candidate an asshole.
“Cum guzzling slut” is right out unless one has proof that she enjoys giving oral pleasure to men and does so frequently with a large number of partners.
Perhaps some of Ms. Clinton’s supporters would enlighten me as to why they believe, based on the thread title, that when this woman screws up it is incumbent on others to remain silent. This is not the first time that similar sentiments have been voiced, that those that would speak against her should just shut the fuck up.
I have a different idea. Why don’t you counsel her to stop talking shit.
Seriously, this is not the way to sway independent voters. We don’t march in formation very well, and being told that speaking out against inflammatory statements is stupid (again, see the thread title) goes against our grain.
I tend to vote for conservative candidates, and this time was again wishing for one. But I really liked what Mr. Obama had to say, and was willing to look at him for his views, his attitude, and the overall class with which he has run his campaign. Both Ms. Clinton and Mr. McCain have had managerial problems within their staffs, and I figure if you can’t manage a campaign staff how could you possibly manage a country?
Then this stuff comes up. The attitude that free speech should be stifled for some possible advantage or that Ms. Clinton’s supporters may not like dissent is counter to the entire set of principles that I like to think of American.
So, if voting Democrat means just falling into line and being expected to do what you are told, I’ll look elsewhere.
I agree…
Bitch is just a female version of asshole. It doesn’t have any different connotation to me. The behavior is generally the same. Assholes and Bitches are almost exactly the same in behavior. Self-centered egos who think the whole world ought to revolve around them. The PC Police trying to say that using “bitch” is misogynistic need to get a grip. Calling her a whore would be, because it is a concept that only exists for women.
I think those that want to forbid the use of “bitch” need to explain why it isn’t okay. Can we not call her any bad words at all? It’s only that when we start to get specific about our criticism that becomes not okay? I seriously don’t agree.
I think a list of acceptable words would be nice, just so we’d know what we can and cannot call her.
That’s SOP for the DLC crowd, but not, thank Og, for Obama. Hopefully once he’s in office he can take some time away from healing the nation and turn his hand to rehabilitating the Democratic Party.
Apparently, Sen Obama is determined to be gracious about this.

**Obama empathizes with Clinton over Kennedy comment **
I think this is the entirely correct approach. Politicly astute, most especially. However much one may dislike Hilary, a whole bunch of people like her, and are going to be disappointed not to vote for her. They vote. We need them. Any questions?
And if I have to eat some shit to keep John McCain from being CinC…here’s my spoon, here’s my grin.
(This is a duplicate of a post I made in the GD thread on the same issue. Is that legal? Kosher? Advise if repentance appropriate…)
Who’s talking about stifling free speech? That’s inane. People are asking you to show some class. They’re not locking you up for what you say, they’re not shutting down your radio station, they’re not even issuing FCC fines for tackiness.
A request for a respectful political climate does not constitute censorship by any stretch of the imagination. The only penalty for acting obnoxious is that you’ll get frowned at. (Well, yeah, and you might manage to maintain the alienation of some Clinton supporters to the extent that they’ll vote for McCain in the fall, but that’s less likely). Buck up, little cowboy! You’re not being oppressed!
I’m a pretty big supporter of Obama. I have literally never in my life felt that I could actually support a political candidate (much less one with a chance of winning), and it kind of freaks me out that I’m doing so now. Clinton’s behavior has been, in my opinion, dishonest, amoral, and just plain sleazy. But that doesn’t mean that I’m going to lower myself to her level, or to the level of yahoos who keep the volume turned up to 11 in all cases.
Part of why I support Obama is that he runs his campaign the way I believe campaigns ought to be run, with an eye toward respectful political discourse. I try to let his example remind me to keep my own political discourse respectful. I wish all his supporters would do the same.
Daniel
I have no authority over what you can and cannot do. You can certainly call her whatever the fuck you want to call her. You can run down the street pulling shit out of your pants and rubbing it on your head. At least the second doesn’t hurt Obama’s chances for victory asshole.
There may be a point that to some “bitch” is not a gender-derogatory word in this context. Sure when you use it you may intend nothing more that the equal of calling Obama a “prick.” OTOH many of us, myself included and certainly many of those who have been supporting Clinton and whose support Obama could use in the general, do find it offensive gender-derogatory language not much different than referring to Obama as “boy” if not on par with “Nigger”.
If I, an Obama supporter from before day one, someone who has disliked Hillary ever since she screwed up healthcare reform with her arrogant incompentence during Bill’s first administration, feel that such language is a bit of gender derogatory, then perhaps, just perhaps, such language will be perceived that way by a large portion of those who need to be brought round to help Obama win come November?
In reality the words list is easy. Even if you think that offense as a gender-derogatory word would only be taken by the thin-skinned but you can imagine that some would be offended by it, then stop being a putz you prick and just shut the fuck up. Please.
As well, let us not forget that an oral compulsion can be a very endearing characteristic.
Incorrect, as I posted in the other thread last night. Bill didn’t clinch the nomination in 1992 until June 2.
He’s killing her with kindness. I’m sure there’s some sincerity to this, but at the end of the day this is political move. And a smart one, as it confirms his status as the magnanimous candidtate, while also showing that he has plenty of graciousness to spare since she’s not really his competitor anymore.
Sam cinch, no, but all but (as much as Obama has) yep. Plus June then was no where as long into the process if for no mother reason that California was still to come let alone that it started much later without the front loading we have now.
There is little historical precedence for the deference she has gotten. And I’m fine with her getting it at this point, so long as she keeps the divisive rhetoric in check.
Given the hysterical overreaction to this latest, we can reasonably expect that HRC will tread as delicately as a kitten with sore feet.
