Its OK. Things stagnate sometimes. And sometimes green eyed monsters raise their ugly heads, espeically with academics and the current job climate.
A bit of both really. I look at galaxies in the centres of clusters and I’m trying to figure out why I get smaller jets in richer clusters and why do the jets of my radio galaxies flare where they do - see my webpage for the pretty pictures and info.

Pretty neat stuff them galaxies (hee hee, the second picture on your site looks like a sperm). Tell me about binary stars, Angua, how common are they? I read somewhere that the ratio of binary stars to single stars is 1:1. Is that true?

Its been posited for a while, but its only with the recent X-ray satellites (Chandra and XMM-Newton) that we’ve had the spatial and spectral resolution to actually find the physical evidence for it.
The Local group is a fairly poor group as far as groups go, so yeah, it doesn’t have much hot excited gas in it. Virgo probably has the bulk of the hot gas in our little group.
green_bladder, you know, I’ll never be able to look at that galaxy in the same way again.
I don’t do stars. Don’t know too much about them consequently. But there are a lot of binary and multiple stars out there.
