Say it isn’t so. ![]()
haha. Well Mizrahi luuurves him. He came over from the other show. He’s cute and obnoxious, always a winning combo on PR. He’s providing the drama with Kini who will also be around for a while. His real bomb was the naked person challenge but he wasn’t eliminated so that shows the producers want to keep him.
In a interview with Tim Gunn about the regular show he insisted that the producers had nothing to do with the judging. I don’t know if I buy it or not, but even if it’s true, they definitely have influence on the judging of this show.
I resent the judges for going along with it! At least look a little put out* at having to come up with something nice to say about Sam’s look. Oh, I know: “It does look like something that washed up on the shore, just like The Little Mermaid! Very true to the inspiration!”
*“a little put out” may be the secret to Sam’s success.
Dom was robbed. That outfit was beautiful and looked to be very well finished for the time allowed.
I don’t even know what to say about Sam. Just what the ever loving eff?
I always love what the judges hate most, so I guess I know squat about fashion. I kind of liked Alexander’s dress. It might not have been exciting but it sure wasn’t the worst. When I saw the Rapunzel outfit, I hated everything about it. It was boring, the fabric was too stiff, and what was up with that peplum?
I thought it was an homage “"Yves Saint Laurent”
I agree; Dom was robbed.
I think Tim Gunn has drunk the Kool-Aid. Last season’s interference with Swapnil sealed it for me.
I’m happy with Kini winning. I also would have liked it if Asha won. But, while Dom’s dress was great, it didn’t look like it took a 20’s look and made it modern. It looked like it belonged in the 20’s. At least the front and sides.
And as for Sam… His dress was nice, but nowhere NEAR sporty. At least the other two bottom looks looked kind of sporty. I think Sam should have gone home.
Pros about last night:
Zana was finally dressed decently, although her hair could still use some work
Kini got a win for a very well-made garment
Ken found a friend in Kristin Cavaleri - I’ll bet dollars to dougnuts that is why he didn’t go home
Sam was at least in the bottom for totally ignoring the challenge and essentially making a clone of his last week’s outfit
Cons:
Who the holy heck put on Alyssa’s makeup? Poor thing could barely open her eyes. They are probably still trying to chip off that 6-inch layer of glop as I type and yes, I know it was pre-recorded.
Why didn’t Sam go home for ignoring the challenge completely? Because Isaac is crushing on him. Mr. Isaac, sitting back home, should be jealous.
Poor Ken didn’t have a clue, but did the best he could, and Isaac tore him a new one. Mean and unnecessary. Was proud of Ken for his growth. He took it so much better than he took any kind of criticism during his original season.
Any woman, wearing any of those looks, to a sporting event would be seriously out of place. Yup, I know it’s a couture envisionment of a sports viewing outfit but still.
Loved Dom’s look – the best, fashion-wise, of the week – but am okay with Kini’s win, since the winning look needs to be manufactured at a reasonable price and sold to a fairly specific customer base.
Agree that Ken took the feedback well – but that was after he went AWOL for two workroom hours plus overnight. (Are the contestants living together? There have been zero “back at the ranch” scenes this season – no sponsoring hotel needing a plug? Or do they just not do that in All Stars?)
And please, just send Sam home already. Isaac’s credibility is really suffering from his support of him.
If one more person makes a circle skirt and/or crop top, well, I don’t know what I’ll do. A circle skirt?! Of all the easy things to do and it’s been done to death and beyond on PR.
I hope they are making just Kini’s coat – the rest of the outfit was throwaway to me.
They made it clear that they would be “working with the designer of the winning look,” not “producing the winning look.”
Looks like the shirt
and the jacket:
I’ll say. She was dressed so peculiarly too. Was that supposed to be one of the designs for her line? With that weird harness strappy thing over it. But with that hairstyle and the pounds of makeup and the cheap-looking clothes, she looked…low classy.
I loved Dom’s dress but Kini’s was a better fit for the challenge. Sam ((shrug)), he’ll be around until they get rid of Asha and Emily at least.
She was the poster child for “edit, edit, edit”. Low class makeup, plus those huge gold earrings on top of everything else she had on? I didn’t see the appeal of her clothing line either – she mentions they use the best quality fabrics and they’re those see-through cottons?
oh god, yes, the giant hoop earrings. I was at Cheesequake, the rest stop on the Garden State Parkway, once and half the women looked and dressed like this. So there is a market for her stuff.
That’s a real place! I thought maybe it was an autocorrect of Chesapeake but no! I am usually on the NJ Turnpike and stop at mundane places like the Clara Barton travel plaza. ![]()
I actually own a piece of Alyssa’s sports line for women. It’s a light weight zip-up sweatshirt, the kind that wicks away moisture. It’s got a light lining. I bought it at a baseball park because I’d forgotten to bring a jacket and the evening got chilly before the game was over.
I like the darn thing. I’ve had it for years and it’s washed well and held up well.
Good to hear!
You are her! That was her story. Except she said she could only find pink hoodies, and she doesn’t like pink apparently.
My guilty admission is that I like Mizrahi’s stuff on QVC.
