Project Runway Season 14

All I see is a clip about Kim Zolchiak-Whatever. I don’t know who she is but I am sick of seeing her all over the place. I finally had to hide her crap on facebook because my niece kept liking stuff on her page and when she talked about how she turned 30 and was a cougar now I decided I had to hide her from my feed before the stupid infected me but she’s everywhere! She’s like a Kardashian in training or something.

Kim Zolciak used to be a Real Housewife of Atlanta. Now she has her own show on Bravo. I never really liked her.

Candice with the “vagina” talk again! At least nobody has said “panties” yet.
God, I miss Santino. Like most shows, PR is a shadow of its former self. The only person I might remember in a year or two is Swapnil.

This morning I was thinking how I could not remember one single contestant, let alone who won, from last season. Yet I can name every contestant from the first 4 seasons. Anyway, last night was kind of a snoozefest except I was worried that Swapnil would be aufed. I did not understand Zac’s comment about being tired of Swapnil coasting. Swapnil has turned in some killer stuff so far.

Yeah, I know I am being manipulated by the editing, but my respect for Swapnill waned somewhat. Part of me says, why would you not give more than 60-80% out of respect for the competition? But then, his 60-80% is quite good. I’d like to see what 100% looked like.

I was torn between Girl George’s and Ashley’s. I did like GG’s for the look of the “fabric”, but it was a little stiff (not much she could do about that, of course). But I don’t have the love for the super full stick-out skirts Ashley does. I would have liked a different shape from her, but I liked the use of the Polaroids.

I’m glad the boring guy went home – I didn’t mind the top of Taylor Swift’s outfit.

As far as Swapnil “slacking off”, it’s all in the editing. I’m sure everyone else in that room took a few breaks as well. They just didn’t show any of those. I think he’s being set for an aufing and a TG save.

I liked Lindsey’s dress, and didn’t loved Edmund’s as much as the judges did. Ashley’s dress was really cute, as was Kelly’s. I would have been happy with either of them winning.

I hated the white headlights on Candace’s dress.

The right person went home.

Ah, thanks. There’s a long version of it, I think on the S2 DVDs? – they went on for about a half an hour. Those were, indeed, the days.

Agree, either Kelly or Ashley would have been fine for a win. And, yeah, they may be editing for a later TG save. (Has he ever gone so deep into the season without using it? “Ever” being a relative term – isn’t this like the third season they’ve had it?)

Wish they’d had more about the germaphobe having to go through the dumpsters, which didn’t look all that nasty.

Actually, they got rid of two boring guys with Jake leaving voluntarily. I didn’t think Lindsey’s looked that bad from a distance.

Re: Swapnil - didn’t he actually say all that stuff about being safe and not putting in 100%? So how much editing can be involved? Maybe they asked leading questions? I don’t know but it seems like that is truly his attitude. I also don’t get the love for his look (the top part). He spent all that time on a top that was barely there, I’m surprised they didn’t get on him about the “taste level”. The whole time Swapnil was working on that thing it seemed like it ended up looking the same as when he started.

The only ones who I think would be getting the TG save if they end up being auffed before the finals are Ashley, Edmond or Swapnil.

I was strictly referring to Swapnil’s smoke breaks when I mentioned the editing.

Heh – yes, I was going to say I was glad the two boring guys were gone, but not glad about the circumstances of one.

Poor Jake. I was crying right along with him.

So was I. And PR is about the last show I thought would ever make me cry!

Oh Laurie, what the fuck was that girl? I really don’t know how she stayed this week. I didn’t really love any of the fashions this week, but if I had to pick one it would be Edmund’s, I guess.

Holy shit. I think that is the worst one I can remember. There were so many things wrong with it. Tinkerbell and fairies and my daughter – yeah, that reminds me of ruffled hot pants! Yeah, Tinkerbell is one to wear coochie cutters. “Ruffled hot pants”-- talk about three words that don’t belong together.

I was glad Ashley was saved by something else being so very bad, but she needs to get herself together.

They just aufed that other mousy white woman for a flowy maternity dress with a big tail, so Taylor Swift makes another one?? Did she see a void left by that woman and hurry to fill it?

Laurie is the luckiest person on the face of the earth.

I liked the pieces of Edmund’s but the styles didn’t mesh. Why dreamy cloud combined with sexy/strappy? And I was one of the people who didn’t “get” Natasha’s look. But I don’t mind her win. She just needs to spend less time critiquing other people’s work.

Swapnill? Now I gave 150% and they don’t like it? What do I have to give, 2000%? Um, you made an interesting jacket over a basic shower curtain skirt. Maybe doing it without smoking made it seem like more than it was. And it you want to use tartan, really go for it. Don’t use a pale glen plaid.

Oh, clearly this is an unhealthy obsession, but as a quilter who respects fabric, I cringe at how Laurie treated that silver fabric. It’s $110 a yard and would have looked cool as an overlay on an ethereal color like periwinkle or lavender or icy blue. You could fussy cut it and create bubbles or glitteryness like in the musical. Even a variant on her idea of threading ribbon through it could have worked. Such an abomination what she did with it.

If Ashley had been aufed, Tim would have saved her.

But Laurie, seriously, What The Fuck.

God is this a boring season. Boring boring boring.

The designs are boring, the characters are boring, and even the drama is boring. When I think about last year and Sean Kelly’s dye dress in the rain. Or when Swapnil said plaid and I flashed back to Jeffrey’s yellow plaid couture gown. I know its even boring for me to complain that this season doesn’t measure up to other seasons; that is a perennial complaint. This is going to be one of those seasons that no one remembers.

Ok onto the latest episode, which I actually have to go look at the site because except for Laurie’s abomination I can’t remember any of it. I agree with the winner - that actually was beautiful and I love the historical references, and the fabric was beauooooooootiful. The loser, well it was her time. We knew it, she knew it, and it was just putting everyone out of our misery.

And onward we trudge towards fashion week.

I can’t remember who Laurie was talking to… Merline? who asked her what “hot pants” were but she knew what bootie shorts were. I really wonder about designers who don’t know historical fashion references, this is not the first time it’s happened.

Boy George Girl pretending to Tim that she knew what paillettes were had me going
No “WTF?..”

I forgot about that! He’s offering me pie?!
