Psst...Christi...come here!!

I just read your confessional post and at the risk of sounding like a teeny bopper from the 60’s…who’s your favorite Monkee? How about your favorite song?

Mine? Mickey and She.

PS. I’d love everyone else to participate, but I think Christi and I are the only Monkees fans left…maybe you’ll prove me wrong?

Monster - my SO and I just bought the Monkees Anthology 2 CD set. They are his absolute favorite, and I like 'em too.

I’m 30, but the first concert I ever saw was the Monkees (reunion tour) Peter Tork was my favorite

oops, favorite song…hmmmm, this is tough. I’m going to go with Stepping Stone, but that might not be my final answer

I have a picture of Davy Jones and me. I have a grip on his arm like I am his #1 psycho fan! The look on his face shows that he is a little frightened. I still laugh my ass off every time I look at it!

Sigh <coming out of the closet briefly>
Davy Jones…drool

Favorite song? Hmmmmm. Let me think on that, there are so many…

<scurries quickly back into her closet>

You are more than a human being, you are a human becoming.
Og Mandino

That’s my name, not a description. I am neither purple nor a bear. Okay, so I’m purple.<a true Wally original!>

Davy Jones was my date to a high school dance.

No, wait . . . . . . that was Marsha.

Sorry. Nevermind.

“Words fascinate me. They always have. For me, browsing in a dictionary is like being turned loose in a bank.” - Eddie Cantor

Mike Nesmith; “Pleasant Valley Sunday.” (Though I also have my “What Am I Doing Hangin’ 'Round” moments, as well)

There was a moderate-sized Monkees revival in the early '80s (MTV was playing the episodes for a while), and I thought the show as a lot of fun. On top of that, most of their music didn’t actually suck. (I’ve actually bought a CD of Pisces, Aquarius, Capricorn and Jones Ltd..)

I’m your only friend
I’m not your only friend
But I’m a little glowing friend
But really I’m not actually your friend
But I am

Right on! My mom bought me 3 albums for my last birthday. It was the best birthday ever!!! <wiping a tear from my eye>

I saw Davy Jones at a Brady Bunch show. It was a group of actors who toured and acted out Brady Bunch episodes word for word. I was lucky enough to see them do the one with Davy Jones. It was great! Then the following year I saw Micky and Davy touring together. I hadn’t even been born when they were popular the first time around, but I have been crazy about them for a long time!

Mike is becoming more popular with me because now I can appreciate his droll sense of humor and leadership in the group. I just love his voice of reason!!

Hi monster! Sorry it took me so long to get here. No internet access at work, and it’s been thunderstorming.

Anyway, my fave Monkee is Mike Nesmith. I never really had a crush on Davy, believe it or not. I would swing back & forth from Micky to Mike. But I finally settled on Mike. Fave tune is Goin’ Down, and pretty much everything by Mike. Papa Gene’s Blues is also a particular favorite of mine.

Monkees Rule!

Yes, I never really had a crush on Davy either, he was just the first one I got to see in person.

I love Goin Down…have you learned all of the words yet? I think I look like a moron driving down the highway singing that song at the top of my lungs!

Anyway, I am SO glad to find people who don’t look at me funny when I mention my Monkees devotion. Thanks!!

Mickey. And Last Train to Clarksville.

Although, I did like Davy’s accent. I’ve always been really big on accents.

monster: when I hear Goin’ Down, I can usually get all the words right. I don’t remember lyrics well, though, so I can’t quite them to you right now.

Did I mention that I have most (not all) of the Monkees albums? On vinyl?

Favorite song? “Gonna Buy Me A Dog”

Cristi, have you ever seen Michael Nesmith’s Elephant Parts?

Eagles may soar free and proud, but weasels never get sucked into jet engines.

slythe: No, I haven’t, but I hear it’s quite good. I can’t seem to find it on video at the stores around here, and I only just reacently got the means to purchase stuff online. So, I may have to do a little surfin’.

she used to bring me my, my newspaper, because she knew where it was at:smiley:

I need to get a record player so I can listen to my albums. I have the four CD set from Rhino, but even that doesn’t have all of the songs. My sister has a couple of their 45’s from our mom’s collection, and I need to get her to send them to me.

I love Papa Gene’s Blues too. My 3 year old son sings the end at the top of his lungs with his arms spread out…

Yes, I love you and I…know…you…love…ME!!!

It just warms the cockles of my heart!!!
