Like I said in Tars Tarkar’s thread, that’s the day I get back to Moline.
Unfortunately, it’s after my study abroad term, which means I’ve been out of the US, let alone the state for 2 3/4 months.
That, and we get into O’Hare at 3:30 (barring delays), so we still have the drive home.

I couldn’t find the spare battery for my camera.
I was running about 15 minutes late because I spent about half an hour tearing apart the house for the stupid little thing. I knew I had one, I just couldn’t find it, and still haven’t. My clothes weren’t dry by the time I had to leave, either, so I was severely underdressed. So anyway, I was running about 15 minutes late, got there, and the mod squad snuck in while I was in the bathroom.
Blue Cat is a great place, I’ll have to go there again.
Also, as shown in beagledave’s post, I had to hire some ugly guy off the street to sit in my place, to keep his camera from breaking due to my radiant beauty.
It’s 4:40 AM now, and I drank about 5 Mountain Dews, which is about 5 more than I’ve had in the last month. So I’m both really tired and jittery, thus this post hopping around like a jumping bean in a kangaroo’s pouch on a pogo stick.
Anyway, I got to meet the mod squad, TVeblen, Cajun Man, and DrMatrix, none of which were what I expected except Veb whose picture I’d already seen. Then beagledave showed up, followed by the fashionably late misstee and missteery lurker, who beat me out for longest drive by coming half way across the state. SuperVillain X came in last, and matches his post to this thread perfectly. He’s even got the hairstyle. Sadly, Giant Inflatable Penis wasn’t able to come, probably because he’d drank too much. And don’t make me e-mail an admin, Cajun. Doors are not excuses for windows in rules.
dave left after getting his photographic evidence, and then we headed to Veb’s place. We sampled some of the best jambalya I’ve ever had, and I got to use the term turd burglar in front of three mods. I feel so proud.
So I got a couple pictures, having to use the flash which I dislike since the light meter won’t work sans-battery. I’ll try and get them scanned whenever I finish the roll.
Failing my long-standing commitment to be the last one to leave any party, the Villain out-stayed me. I’m sure they were relieved to see me leave at 3.
I had a good time, met some neat new people and had some interesting discussion; a good first dopefest for me. I wish Kricket and some more people would have been able to come. Maybe next time, or at the Chicago fest.
I didn’t see the post about going to Vebs house afterwards until the next day. And, my e-mail with my phone number must not have gotten to BeagleDave in time for you guys to call me either.
That or he didn’t want me to go so that he had the full attention of the ModSquad witout competion from charming dazzling little ol’ me.
Looks like you all had a great time. I am very sorry that I wasn’t able to make it. But, there will be other times over the summer.
Has anyone heard from misstee? She said she’d post when they got back. She hasn’t posted anywhere; I was thinking of calling just to make sure they made it back OK.
Thanks again to Veb, Cajun, and the good Dr for letting me come. It was fun, and I look forward to Chicago Dope. If someone could e-mail me when the date is finalized, I’d appreciate it; I might miss it.
Kricket, Dave left before we went to the house. Cajun kept threatening him with jambalya.
Seriously, though, it was really quite good, as was the Blue Cat’s food. I recomend both to anyone in the area.

I made it back-- sorry- I didn’t post like I said I would. Its been a crazy 4 days since then. I did manage to sleep for 2 hours before I had to go to work. ( the jambalya was worth it, so was the expierence)
