Quad Cities Dope Fest?

Cajun Man, Dr. Matrix and I have taken the first faltering steps toward world domination. We’ve formed the first quasi-official Mod Squad (snork, snork) right here in America’s Heartland.
Actually they’re just temporarily renting the spare back rooms of my Addams family house while they tentatively embark on a new life outside of Manhattan. Yes! Suave, dazzling urbanites swooped into the land of corn fields, gimme caps and TV commercials for hog semen.

The transplant’s lookin’ good so far. First came a timid foray to the infamous Springfield “Spiffled” Dope Fest. Took to it like proverbial ducks to water, folks!

But the time has come to move the moveable feast closer to home.

Any stalwart Dopers in the Quad Cities area up for a get-together on the weekend of December 14th ? We were thinking about a relaxed chin-wag at the Blue Cat Brew Pub: excellent beer, good range of food choices, soft drinks for them’s as drinks 'em, easy to talk. Those moved by the party spirit(s) are right in The District, with all the choices of clubs. Plans can simplify or expand as needed.

So…anyone interested?

I’m from the Quad Cities (well, Geneseo, but what the hell), but I won’t be around the area at the time. Blue Cat is a pretty cool place, though.

Two days after my birthday!
But, I work on weekends and I wouldn’t be able to meet anybody until after 1am.
Blue Cat is on your side of the river right?
I have a heck of a time getting away from the house as BeagleDave found out since we were supposed to get together a few weeks ago.
But if you think you are going to pull an all nighter I will be there right after work.

You should also stop by the Victorian Walk in Geneseo that night. The one night a year when I think Geneseo is halfway cool.

Sounds pretty cool. We love the Blue Cat’s food and brew selection. Even if we didn’t get to see the giant inflatable penis . . . yet.

And Friday Dec 13th is Cajun Man’s 51st birthday. So, we’ll have to plan something for Friday night as well.

Maybe I can make this one, seeing that I missed the springfeld one due to totaled car and broken ankle, me and bonita supreme may have to stop by if thats ok :smiley:

The more the merrier, Deadly! Hope you and bonita can make it.
The plans are still fluid in the extreme but whatever we end up doing will almost certainly be more fun than a car wreck with personal injuries.

Just checking in for updates and to see if any plans got set while I was trapped in Oscar Mayer for the weekend.
I really want to be able to make this and since my 31st is the 12th and Canjun Mans 51st is the 13th it should be loads of fun.
But, I need to know how late you all plan on staying out since I don’t get out of work until a little after 1am.
If I don’t get to make it out for drinks maybe you will all be up for going out to breakfast somewhere after you are done at the pub?
