It’s been my personal feeling that the outraged women dopers have a point, but not as much talking room as they imagine. I’ve mostly kept it to myself, but there it is.
As I said right up front, we’re definitely not all saints.
First, I’m sorry I haven’t been back before now. I’ve been ridiculously busy.
Second, though I will be back soon to post responses, I can’t right now. Hopefully this weekend.
Third THANK YOU for the ED terminology adjustment. I was drawing a blank on what to call the situation, despite sensing that the term I picked was wrong or at the very least insensitive.
To sum up;
Nerve damage can stop cold your ability to have sex.
It can stop your ability to feel sexual desire, but obviously the thinking brain can feel differently about it.
It is extremely frustrating, aggravating, depressing, especially when you want it and cannot achieve it.
Strong stressors (see above) can also inhibit your sexual desire.
Illness can inhibit sexual response.
Depression can dampen sexual desire.
Medications can really fuck you up big time.
