Quick, what's your current earworm?

“There She Goes”. I don’t know why - I haven’t heard it lately. I guess it’s been stuck in my head since 1988.

I often wake up with some unexplainable tune going through my mind, probably the result of 50 years as a radio disc jockey. Today it’s “Get Out of My Dreams, Get Into My Car” by Billy Ocean. I haven’t thought of that song in years. Perhaps I heard it on the grocery store PA system last night. Who knows. It will fade away after a couple of hours.

This is my #1 Billy Ocean earworm of all time:

“Slow Turning” by John Hiatt. Super catchy.

Errol Garner - Caravan

Roxanne, by The Police.

Roxanne
You don’t have to put on the red light
Those days are over
You don’t have to sell your body to the night

The song playing when I arrived at the supermarket was Dream Academy. Haven’t heard it for a long, long time. Now it’s all that I can “hear.”

American Tune, Simon & Garfunkel

Soul Love by David Bowie

I’ve always held the view that I don’t much like Ziggy Stardust, but I gave it a listen the other day and I realised that, while I can’t stand Five Years and Suffragette City, I’m fine with the rest of it. So: Soul Love? Yeah, I’ll take that.

Not a bad one to have, really. Although I prefer the other video.

Currently Ashnikko’s Cry, but the metal version…it’s a change from cute Japanese indie.

I’m incredibly lucky: for the last several weeks I’ve been stuck on this sublime work of art.

Lucretia MacEvil, Blood Sweat & Tears.

Petronella

I’ve listened to this three times already today.

Roll Me Away, Bob Seger

I’m selling my motorcycle and hanging up my helmet, after 36 years and 210,000 accident-free miles. I’ve been doing a lot of reminiscing as I turn this chapter.
