Quick, what's your current earworm?

We have a dresser that has a top that lifts (to reveal a pad that makes it a changing table).

Well, the top has a latch that releases with the sound of a piano chord… the exact piano chord that starts off this haunting-yet-cozy tune from Fellow Travellers (the early-90s band fronted by Jeb Loy Nichols).

I actually had one that didn’t evaporate when I saw the title to this thread. It was In the Air Tonight by Phil Collins.

I heard this a week ago and can NOT get it outta my head!

It’s not unpleasant, but it’s been about a week now, Carole. Time to move on.

The theme from Chariots of Fire. I don’t think I’ve actually heard that since the '90s.

A song I haven’t heard or thought about in 45 years inexplicably popped into my head. It’s the epitome of Yacht Rock, but I looked it up on YouTube and found I still liked it after all these years.

“Hot Rod Hearts” by Robbie Dupree.

“Hot rod hearts
Out on the boulevard tonight
Here come those hungry sharks
Up from the bottom for another bite…”

I love L.A. by Randy Newman.

I’ve been watching a lot of Dodger baseball lately.

Alice’s Restaurant. And it isn’t even Thanksgiving.

Brandi Carlile’s new song, “Returning to Myself.” It’s been on heavy rotation on SiriusXM’s The Spectrum channel, and it’s stuck in my head.

“Do They Know It’s Christmas?”

As usual, no idea where it came from.

“Feeeed theeeee worrrrrrrld…”

mmm

Oh, man, I haven’t heard nor thought of that song in 50+ years.

I just listened to it after seeing your post. I don’t hate it.

“Got James Taylor on the stereo…”

mmm

I recalled this one from my elementry school days recently and now it’s stuck in my brain. It’s sung to the tune of “Colonel Bogey March” (also known as the “Bridge over the River Kwai” theme)

Comet, it makes your teeth turn green!

Comet, it tastes like gasoline!

Comet, will make you vomit

so buy some Comet

and vomit, today!

Comet, it makes your tounge turn blue!

Comet, it tastes just like glue!

Comet, it’s good in omelettes

So by some Comet,

and make an omelette, today!

Ain’t that (almost) always the way? American Pie by Don McLean. :man_shrugging:

For some reason, Al Stweart’s “Paint By Numbers.”
