Nitpick: Harry Hopkins.
Wow, I read her post (#8 anyway) and I was afraid to read any further. I hope none of that happens until March Madness is over, because if it did, that would really be tragic.
Her screeds are a companion piece to "It’s Evening in America", says Today’s GOP.
The Glen Beck/Tea Party/Susanann crowd have given up on America. If it DOESN’T fail, they’ll be horribly dissappointed.
Honestly though, it’s kind of sad to see Susanann posting from 1975, expecting that by 1998 we’d all be irradiated mutants living in underground domes and worshipping atomic bombs. Because we all know that if there’s a trend, it must continue on linearly into the future, and there’s no possibility of the trend changing or reversing. This is why the economic growth of the 50s continued forever, the inflation of the 70s continued forever, the war of the 40s continued forever, and the depression of the 30s continued forever.
Really? I’ve been trying to find confirmation on the web of the idea that Hopkins and not Keynes said that but can’t. Do you have something that does?
How much ya’ll wanna bet Susanann goes to church every Sunday and believes in the power of prayer?
If American Christians actually believed half the stuff they preach, they would be the most carefree people on the planet. Indeed, many of them were just a couple of years ago. But something has changed between now and then. I wonder what that thing was.

You betcha. She prays to the blond haired, blue-eyed Jesus of the Bible!

Silver Lining: FOUND!
This made me laugh hard.

Leave It to Beaver was not a documentary.
I hate to say it, but that seemed pretty mild for Susanann!

Written in plain American, just like Jesus talked.

Well, to quote John Maynard Keynes, “In the long run we are all dead.”

Nitpick: Harry Hopkins.
Keynes said it in 1923–A Tract on Monetary Reform. I don’t think Hopkins was the original.

It TOTALLY!!! reminds me of the writing style of middle aged flyover country housewives. Like your spouse’s aunt who is always forwarding you CHAIN!!! emails about THOSE FOREIGNERS!!! crushing a little boy’s arm for stealing some bread or something. If the SDMB allowed avatars, hers would be an animated angel. If she posted a picture of herself, she would be wearing a baby blue sweater with a cat who had gemstones for eyes. Sorry, EYES!!!
Anyway, I was kind of pissed that Kyla got a Mod note for her post inthis thread about the Roman Colosseum. To sum up, I told Susanann she didn’t know what she was talking about, and Kyla posted that that was a reasonable response to all posts of Susanann, which is pretty much one of those truths like water being wet. I couldn’t believe that was considered a personal attack… but whatever. The point is, RTFirefly is correct, Susanann is a useless idiot who should be ignored by all. I’m sure she’s got some scrapbooking to do or something.
You TOTALLY!!! remind me of the new kid in school who figures he can become part of the “popular” crowd by helping mock the girl they all dislike.

Big difference. Kids quite often mock other kids unfairly. This one was dead on.

Susanann at least offers a degree of entertainment value in her posts. Beartato, in the couple months he’s been here, has offered nothing worthy of even being noticed in his posting history prior to this thread. In those couple months, I doubt he’s even read much of what Susanann has posted, what with his being too busy posting to threads about crotch stink and scarves.

Anybody with a Nedroid inspired username is worth listening to.
PS - Susanann is simply a dirty little shit who deserves to be mocked at all presented opportunities. Later suzybabe.
But the post you quoted *was *entertaining. And while I admit to not having especially noticed Beartato prior to it, it appears that you have. Why with the cranky?

Maybe she knows she’s bad at vB coding and prefers caps and multiple exclamation points where you or I would use italics or boldface. Or she learned to write screeds back in the time of typed mimeographed 'zines and has kept the habit.
But zines are the domain of commie liberal pinko queers!

I agree that he was entertaining in that post. Honestly, I’m bringing out the cranky mainly just because I enjoy it and I had this mental image of him figuratively looking around the room for approval after he posted…looked like he needed a little reminder that though The Pit may be a quick route to popularity, it is not hazard free.

What the fuck, is this junior high?

I’ve worked with kids grades 7 through 12 since 1985. Based on that experience, I would say yes; yes, that is more or less exactly what this place is.

Then why do you try to fit in an not succeed? Is it because you’re too mature?
