- There was no real “space race” as everyone was positive that the US would win it, and
- There was no fear of nuclear weapons and war back in the 1950’s, and that the fear of nuclear war is actually higher today among the general populace than it was back when On the Beach, Alas Babylon, and Fail Safe were best-selling novels.
Really, the Reality Distortion Field hovering about this poster is just too strong for most of us to breach. I don’t know if she really required a pitting, but there aren’t enough :rolleyes: in the universe to respond to some of the things she says.

Come on. This is the same person who, in a thread about the Holocaust, argued that if the Jews had guns and blew away the Nazis when they showed up at their doorstep to take them to the concentration camps, the Holocaust would never have happened.
In another thread about the drug war Mexico, she then mentioned that perhaps what was needed was gun control. In that same thread, she wondered why the populace was so complacent and then, when someone mentioned that the cartels will kill pretty much anyone who dares to utter a word against them and slaughter their families while they’re at it, went on to say “I am not afraid of anyone where I live and where I go day by day. An armed American, is the safest person in the world…esp in the last few centuries.”
So yeah, cognitive dissonance is not her strong suit.
I believe she also mentioned that Aileen Wuornos is one of her heroes. Girl’s batshittier than batshit itself.
I have to say, I usually like it when people with strong opinions show up here - makes things…interesting. I don’t know if maybe her opinions are formed from watching too many news shows that only titillate and don’t give you any in-depth or follow-up information.
Or it could just have been that lead paint on her crib…

Nah, she really is just that stupid. I like to think of her as a character on Squidbillies; it makes her moronitude less irritating and more comical.
That’s how I felt about the guy who attributed he and his wife’s sleeping fifteen hours late not to exhaustion/jet lag but to “gassing.”
