My sweetie picked up some stakes for my 'maters, and I got them all tied up (veggie bondage?!?!? ) so I wanted to show them off. The little pot is my bell peppers. The tallest 'mater plant is over my head. And we’re going to miss a bunch of them ripening while we’re gone, but daughter and her friends will get fresh 'maters. So there’s that. And we’ll be eating lobster.
Next-to-last load in the washer. Lots of dirty clothes this week - but it included 2 loads of sheets and one of towels. Plus all our new clothes had to be washed to get the new-clothes stink out of them.
Less than a week to vacation. YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!!!
So there was a $25mil lottery ticket sold around here.
[pressed enter accidentally]
I texted my boss to jokingly ask if we were millionaires yet (we pooled together). His lack of response makes me both nervous and excited, even though it probably just means he hasn’t read the text yet, ha ha ha.
**kush **- or he’s in Tahiti already, sipping umbrella drinks on the beach…
It’s not an illegal human trafficking camp, if that’s what your asking!
The first half is a travel program, Costa Rica, they return and the second half is counselor in training. He’s psyched. He better come home in one piece!
I got more stuff typed up. Mom is giving me grief about goofing around on the internet and not working. It’s Saturday! Sheesh!
I don’t think I can share it outside Facebook friends, but I just posted a nifty video on my Facebook (or at least I think it’s nifty).
Sneakin’ in a quick durknen psot.
We’ve had a few tboomers move through. So we et watermelon. Right now looks like the sun is comin’ back out. Might be more pool time or we might opt to eat dindin.
Whatever, no worries. Still plenty of adulterated beverages to be had.
Yeah, we be party aminals!
Laundry is done. Carpet is dry. I’m gonna vacuum, then get my sweetie to help me move the love seat back. Daughter has gone shopping. **FCD **and I will forage in the fridge for supper. Thus endeth our Saturday…
Wow, I was entire pages behind here. So I just page jumped to the end.
All appropriate comments, wishes, thoughts are hereby extended.
Now, back outside to sit in the heat and humidity, which I happen to love.
My mom and I went to the thrift store. Dropped off some stuff and came home with some. I bought three new shirts, a pink skirt, two belts, and four ties. We’re going back on Wednesday because everything’s half off and Mom wants to get a bunch of plates to break for mosaics. I’ll probably buy some more belts, some ties, and at least look at shoes.
Right now I’m doing laundry (last load is in the washer).
I hear ya MBG! I am a summer baby. Bring on the heat and humidity!
We introduced some more friends to that great cinematic classic Sordid Lives. This is one hootie movie everybody should see once. Preferably while quaffin’ one’s adulterated beverage of choice cause that just makes it better!
Now da bear needs to go beddy bye. Yeah, yeah, I know it’s only a little after nine p.m. bear time but ya gotta remember partyin’ commenced around elevenish this a.m. That’s what pool time will do for ya!
Nitey Nite Y’all!
swampy, I hear ya about pool time.
I’ve been working and partying so hard I haven’t had a chance to pop in here., so [color=red]rosie[/colr]'s sif to all!
Well, we had an interesting day. Our party van broke down tonight after dinner and had to be towed. We rode back with the tow truck driver and it was sort of like a thrill ride. I was glad when it was time to get out. Adding to the excitement was the fact that there were no seat belts in the truck! Woo Hoo!
Off to bed now.
Busy day yesterday, I went shopping in Lichfield with a friend and we bought hats (well, fascinators really) for the wedding we’re going to in August. Mine is all feathery and floaty, actually looks scarily good but we’re hoping the rest of the girlies find something suitably outrageous.
After a leisurely lunch outside in the garden of the café opposite the cathedral, we wandered round the town a bit and then decided to head off to David Austin Roses for a look at their beautiful rose gardens. We had a slow wander around in the sun, then we went to the café for the obligatory tea and cake.
After that, it was time to go home and think about dinner. Then we went to the pub for the evening with a different friend. No beerverages for me though, I offered to drive 'cos I was being good. It was a very pleasant evening out, still quite warm even after 11pm when we left. Got home and decided to watch a film so I chose “Gamer” which was pretty good in the end.
I am up and contemplating weeding the front borders before the sun gets on them, and 'im indoors is still in bed nursing his hangover.
Happy Sunday, all!
Miracle of miracles - Scruffy let me sleep till 6!! We were watching NCIS last night and I was knitting but I was also falling asleep, so I crawled into the freshly-made bed and soon crashed.
Today’s big plan is a trek to WalMart for critter kibbles so they don’t run out while we’re gone. I also need to get about 12 gallons of water for the aquarium - we have to do a water change today. And I’m going to finish making the winch covers for the boat, then I can put away the sewing machine and stuff.
I can also start packing the shorts and tops we’ll be taking to Maine. And the unders, since everything is clean for the moment. We’re driving up in FCD’s car - it’s easier on his back than my Scion - and it’s got limited space for stuff. So there’s a small challenge…
**swampy **- that movie sounds like a hoot! I think we still have a Blockbuster nearby - we’ll have to look for it. I can’t believe I haven’t seen it on cable!
And on that note, I need to caffeinate and think about getting to WalMart before it fills with crazy people.
My DAMN aunt.
My grandfather (and I use that term loosely) is visiting her in Raleigh this month. She took some pictures and posted them on fb. One of them is titled something like “At the pool with Grandpa” but he’s not in the picture. So, I commented on the photo and asked if he was invisible. She commented back and said that I could see him anytime I want to but I choose not to.
EXCUSE ME? This person has been no more of a grandparent to me than my left shoe. My REAL grandparents live downstairs in the same house that I live in. He has been no part of my life, ever. And when he has been around, all he has done is make negative comments about my weight and also that of every other overweight family member. Why would I want to visit with this person? AND, how in the hell does she think I could see him ‘anytime’ I want? Does she think the magic Visa card genie will just pop out of the ATM and fund a trip to either her house or his, which is in Florida? Hell. I can barely afford gas to drive around Ohio.
It really pisses me off because I actually slept well and woke up in a good mood this morning and then I had to read her crappy attempt at a guilt trip.
:mad::mad:
ETA: I just found an actual picture in that same set with him in it. So I wrote, ‘you’re right, Aunt R, he’s right over here! Good thinking!’
HAPPY SOAPY DAY!!!
also happy birthday Cousin
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. Soon I shall brekkify and commence purtification for deheathenization.
MOOOOOOM there’s no such thing as a trip to :eek:Wally*World:eek: without it bein’ full of crazy people. I am convinced they hire crazy people to aimlessly wander the aisles all hours of the day and night.
StickyBuns you know the old sayin’, we can pick our friends, we can pick our nose but [del]we can’t pick our friends’ noses[/del] we can’t pick our relatives. Just because we end up related to some people by a freak of nature does not mean we have to like 'em.
And now this…
