All brekkied and purtified. Shortly we shall head out to the church house for deheathenization. Then it shall be lunch and some pool time. A friend is comin’ over to dine on leftover chicken and N.O.T. sallit with us and then hang by the pool for a couple of hours. Just a nice easy afternoon!

We don’t have any real plans for today. I think we’re just going to hang out around here, and do some yardwork.
We had a nice time visiting with some friends last night. We grilled up some ribeyes, and I made pasta salad and corn on the cob to go along with the steaks.
We mainly just chatted and enjoyed the sunshine and warmth and after that, we came inside and watched Alice in Wonderland with them.
It was a quiet evening, but it was enjoyable.
I am now caffienating and plan to surf the net for just a little bit.

WalMart was amazingly easy this morning. When we got back, **FCD **and daughter mixed up water for the aquarium, she and I put the seats back in the van, I folded the towels that had been in the dryer since yesterday, then I wrote out directions to my mom’s house, since she’s going there for a couple of nights. I’ve also watered my 'maters and turned on the soaker hose for my forsythia.
Shortly, I will finish making the winch covers, then I think I’ll assume the knit position and make some dishcloths, because they’re quick and easy to do. It’s already hot and sticky out there. I hate summer. Spring should be a lot longer…

Just dropped the boy at camp. He’ll be off to Costa Rica next week. He’s such a great kid, I’m going to miss him. But seeing him in his bunk, reconnecting with his friends, he seemed so happy and confident. It’s good.
So, a bittersweet birthday. But I’m surrounded by good people and good things and watching my kids grow up in wonderful ways.
You know how they say “It’s not the heat; it’s the humidity?” It’s just about the same temperature today as it was yesterday, but today it’s practically unbearable when you go out. It’s supposed to rain in the next couple of hours, but I suspect that may only make it worse.
So I’m gonna put on a hat and go out to watch the poor cyclist who are going to be racing around my neighborhood.

ETA: VWife woke me up from my nap, saying that the washer was making strange banging noises. I looked, and it was, but it was working otherwise normally. The load finished washing, and I found the problem: a large rawhide dog chew bone was mixed in with the towels. :smack:
Daughter and granddog are on their way to my mother’s for a couple of days. We’re in chill mode here. I just ate a 'mater sammich. Life is good.
Do you know why it tis that der Mennonite kids can’t take drivers ed and sex education in the same semester? Cause it is too hard on der mule!

Gordie is on THE LIST. He chewed up my asthma inhaler, and spread a quarter of a bag of potting soil around the living room while I was at church.

Southern California is being a total blast, it’s gonna be hard to leave and go home to my grey island, but I have been informed (!) that I ought to stay, and barring that I should come back soon for another visit. I sure do like him, but I am not ready to rush into a new relationship, so I am just enjoying his attention and the weather, and all of the flowers!

I’s had enough of bein’ at the pool. The water’s nice but I think I’ve had enough sunshine on my shoulders and other exposed body parts for one day. OYKW and friend are still out there. I’m sure they’re gonna call it a day soon.

I’m skipping Pool Day because it’s 100 degrees out there, and I’m inhalerless.
