If any of you are going to DragonCon this year, there will be a few shorts based on those commercials. They’ll probably be a staple for the coming years, our creative writers came up with about thirty ideas which will trickle out each year.
Amiga, do like me: download and burn. There are plenty of sites with the full length commercials
**Shirley’**s dorkishness is obviously not on par with yours, darling Belissima.
Um. I done forgot the superfluous “l”.
Ya know, I can’t hold against you the fact that you can’t spell the words I made up :). I know my screen name makes no sense, but I used multiple languages and a team of scientists to come up with it.
um…I still get to poodle ball you until the cows come home, no?
The local rock station here plays them from time to time. My favorite is:
Here’s to you, Mr. Leaves His Christmas Decorations Up All Year Guy
(Mr. Leaves His Christmas Decorations Up All Year Guy)
You ought to put out some lawn chairs so the Three Wise Men can watch the
4th of July fireworks
(4th of July Fireworks) . . . .
Just the thought of that makes me laugh!
Olive
I’ve heard a couple of those too and, while not unhumorous, I quite frankly can’t tell the difference between them and the ads.
Which makes me listen to the parodies trying to figure out how they are poking fun of the originals rather than listening to them for their own humor value, which lessens their funniness to me.
I love these too!
LadyFried and I burst into “tight, tight, tighty, tight” at random times and burst out in giggles.
I am sure people think we are insane, but we don’t care.
Actually, I have forgotten which one that comes from…perhaps I should slog through that link posted above. Does anyone remember?
I love these too (the commercials far more so than the beer, frankly).
Whenever my daughter and I get fast food we sing “Gee, I hope I’m not eating rear end!”
It’s not mentioned in the Wikipedia article, but I could have sworn that when they first started running these ads back in 1999 the announcer was Charlton Heston, not the guy they have now. As I recall he only did a couple of spots before they switched. I can actually remember thinking “Man, this schtick was a lot funnier when they had Heston reading it” the first time I heard one of the newer spots.
***ROY!
ROY! ROY! ROY!***
I guess that didn’t help.
