Oh boy. Me again. Another calling fix. Background first.

Went out on Saturday. Very nice, very attractive girl gives me her number - makes me repeat it back to her so she knows I know it and says she’d really like it if I called her.

So I posted and asked if I was supposed to wait a set number of days. Everyone (most everyone) said, “Nah, call if you like her.”

So I called on Sunday evening. She had company and gave me her work number and suggested that we could do lunch. She asked me to call Monday morning.

So 10:45ish, I call her office - she is with a patient and so I left my office number. (She does not have my home number - she just gave me hers.) It’s now 2:30 p.m.

Here’s what is going through my nutters head. Did she get the message? If she did, why not call back? Of course, I haven’t a clue what her office is like or how busy it is. She’s a Dr.'s assistant. But I feel sort of badly that she doesn’t know my home number so she couldn’t even call me at home if she wanted.

I’m being obsessive compulsive. heh. But what really is the decorum now? If she doesn’t call back today, do I call her tonight? If she didn’t get the message, will she think I’m a jerk for not calling? I’m telling you, I don’t understand women.

Call tonight, say that you were sorry that you missed her for lunch, and ask if she’s available for lunch tomorrow.

I think that it’s just the standard paranoia of “wait-maybe-she-doesn’t-like-me” coming to the fore. Or, you could track down where she works, drive over there now, and wait in the parking lot until she leaves work. You’d get to meet her, but you probably want a non-courtroom setting for your first date.
