Resolved: Happy New MMP 2013!

MOOOOOOM read The God Of Cake Funnie stuff!

Um, I was ambushed by a news crew this morning while at the 5K. I don’t want to post a link publicly, but if you’d like to see me out of breath and wearing purple, send me a PM and I’ll send you a link.

We’ll have to hose down all the straight Mumper mens after they read this.

Believe me, it is the opposite of sexy. It was weird, I didn’t watch it and think how fat I looked, all I could think of was that I sounded like I have gravel in my mouth! (And, of course, how much of what I said that they left out.)

Can’t watch streaming video at work, and I don’t have internet at home. FARK!!!

Which is to say, let us be the judge as to its sexworthiness. Well, when I say us, I mean, a bunch of guys (and ladies) not including me.

They’re amputating my dad’s leg above the knee. The doctor was worried about his kidneys if they waited longer. That means Dad will be wheelchair-bound and not able to take care of himself any more.

If you’ll excuse me, I’m going to think vile profanities for a while.

Oh Spaz, I’m so sorry. :frowning:

Just talked to Older Sister. One of them will take him in, since they both bought houses with that possibility in mind. Most likely Oldest based on the layout of her house. He’s going to be grumpy. As would any of us.

The first thing, though, is to clean out the house. That will be an undertaking of the first order. Then…well, Older BIL was talking about how he could flip houses at Christmas…

I was sipping on the 1995 version last night. If you’re giving, can I be your friend too?

It was windy & therefore a bit chilly on the beach today. Here is a picture of one of the other plungers:are you sure you want to?some things can’t be unseen…you’ve been warned!why would one do this in underwear instead of a bikini?

I will never look at SpongeBob the same way again!

Oh, spaz. I’m sorry for your whole family. I’m glad he’s choosing a way to survive though.

{{{spaz}}} poor spazdad

And 2013 looks to be on course toward being as unpleasant as 2012.

Everyone please take however much sympathy, medication, etc. as you need or want.

My sinuses hate me and DH is being a pain.

A diabetic friend I worked with at the Library refused to have his toe, later foot, later leg amputated and of course died.

My Father died when I was sixteen. It was a bitch.

It is easy to say, but I would believe that if they are amputating, they will stop it in time.

Studies show that people being optimistic around cancer patients improve the survival rate. We will all make positive waves. More importantly, be sure that you and other people around him do also.

I’m sure that Swampy will contribute positive waves, and nothing evil can stand against that.

First time writing the date, I messed up. I suspect there will be a lot of 12s-turned-awkwardly-into-13s for the next few weeks.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. YAWN 'Tis 59 Amurrkin out and rainy with a predicted high of 60 for the day. Thus, we can safely say it’s as warm as it’s gonna get today. Also, it’s OYKW’s bday and for a little over six months we are the same age again. BDay dindin has been decided to be waffles, bacon and scrambled aigs. Thus it shall be.

{{{Spaz}}} sending prayers, good thoughts and healin’ vibes your dad’s way. Thinkin’, indeed, sayin’ vile profanities outloud is entirely appropriate.

Spidey that was ummm… special.

Guano I foresee many days of the same thing in my near future.

Now I need more caffiene and rumbly tummy wants to be fed. Then, alas, 'tis back to irk so purtification must commence.

Happy Hump Day Y’all!

Last day of holiday for me as the saltmines will be opening their doors again in the morning. Naturally I was awake at 3am with a load of things rattling round in my head and couldn’t get back to sleep for ages.

I’m kind of looking forward to being back at work, staying at home all the time depresses me because there is so much work that needs to be done around the house and I can’t afford to get a lot of it sorted out. I think the best thing to do would be to focus on one job at a time so this year I’m aiming to get the bathroom sorted out.

It will be a long job, done in stages as and when I can afford to continue. But I’m sure the end result will be worth it.

**Spidey **- your warnings weren’t strong enough. Yoiks!!!

I’m at work with much to do. Off I go to do it. Happy Wednesday! Send chocolate!!! <sigh>

My grandma had to have her leg amputated due to diabetes a year and a half ago. She kept refusing to have it done until my uncle wielded his power of attorney. She died two days later, but she was also 93 and we were halfway expecting it. It’s a major shock to the system.

My dad’s leg was amputated to save his kidneys. Better half a leg than dialysis. My family’s not rah-rah-you-can-do-eet types, but we are optimistic. Especially Medical Expert Oldest Sister (she’s a consultant pharmacist, so she’s the one we ask all our medical/medication questions). We all also have a healthy dose of fatalism. If there’s nothing else you can do, might as well make the best of it.

Spidey, that picture was…um…different. It was the balloon that was the most disturbing. For me anyway. I consider Spongebob to be a lesser demon on the best days.
