This afternoon, I set up a NYC Straight Dope mailing list on my Internet server. I thought it would be easier to use a list server to keep in touch and plan dopefests, thursday night lunches, all that good stuff, if we used an automated list instead of doing a reply-all every time.

I just wanted to say what a great time I had on Thursday night (sorry it’s taken so long to post this… it’s been a busy weekend!!!) It was great seeing the people I already knew, and meeting people I didn’t. I came up with an unofficial total of 18. Did anyone come up with anything different?
Oh, that explains that mysterious e-mail I got. I get a little snippy when I get e-mails from people (or bots) who seem to know me even though I don’t know them.

Sadly, I cannot make it this week. But I’ve never been to Ruby Foo’s and I’ve heard good things about it, so I hope we go there again sometime.
At one point, I think, there was talk of doing ever other week, to make things easier on both the calendar and the pocketbook. What say we about this?

I won’t be there this week. I’m going out of town Thursday Morning. I’ve been to Ruby Foos. It’s right by my office. The food is very good and the portions are huge so two could easily share one plate.
I would like sometime to go bowling. Anybody game for that?
Alas, no. And it’s near my apartment, too! But tonight is the last of my Thursday night coaching sessions (they become Tuesday night coaching sessions next week). So it’s just a matter of time.
