Of course you want now all to ignore that that was not mentioned by you before. Lack of assimilation just means that there are issues to solve that other nations are not doing as successful as Canada and the USA.
In any case, I will have to assume you are granting the point that bring the Hitler Youth into the discussion was retarded in Beck’s case and attempting to defend his say so was idiotic on your part.
Err no, it shows that Canada and the US were more selective in their recruitment criteria. The moral of the story is that highly skilled migrants are more likely to do well and pass on good habits to their children.
The lack of assimilation in Europe is linked to the lack of skills or ability to assimilate leading to an underclass that creates its own negative culture. Go back and look at the figures I cited above
In point of fact, membership in the Hitler Youth was mandatory. Moreover, the point of the thing was not just participation in politics or training of future leaders; it was induction into a cult of personality.
Also, can you take your racist hijacks somewhere else? (Into a garbage bin, for example.)
Heh, I suppose you’re against smoking because you’ve been reading the Nazi research which found it was bad for you?
As discussed on another thread, a similar game was played with Al Gore’s “Earth in the Balance” and picking whether certain lines were from Gore’s book, or the Unabomber’s writing.
I guess it’s always easier for simple minded people to point to a bad person who said something rather than tackle the actual argument.
Indeed. I love these sort of threads where someone eventually starts claiming an in-depth knowledge of an entire country (or set of countries) when they can’t even read the language, so they have to rely on a small amount of translated articles or, even better, articles on right-wing blogs that are very economic with the truth (but you can’t tell that as you can’t read what they are referring to).
Regarding assimilation of immigrants, immigration is still relatively new to the Scandinavian countries, especially from Muslim countries. Congratulations, the US has a head start. This in no way means that assimilation will not improve over time. Then again, I’d argue that demanding assimilation is wrong, acceptance of the culture you are living in is one thing but you shouldn’t feel forced to act exactly like one of those people.
Thirdly, this crap about low education of Muslim immigrants is ignoring the fact that they are largely first generation immigrants. Once the offspring hit the schools here (which by all accounts outperform schools in the US) I’m pretty sure they’ll be just as well educated. I know a lot of the second and third generation Muslims that I have met in my native UK and here in Sweden were.
Yup. I particularly liked the way he mis-spelled “Scandinavian” That doesn’t keep me from regarding him as a complete jerk and an asshole for his statements, though.
