Blurf. I unloaded and reloaded the old dishwasher. I never dreamed I was buying a new dishwasher just to sit uninstalled in the living room. Maybe tomorrow. One can hope.
We have tickets to the theatre tonight. It is a musical performance entitled “Soul of Key West” at a tiny little theatre. Should be fun. We will leave early and grab dinner somewhere. One of my clerks, Ms. Judy and her husband are joining us. It is rare for me to go anywhere on the weekend so this is a big deal.
Last quiet Saturday for awhile, starting next week youth Soccer will be starting to play games and I’ll be at the fields either coaching or refereeing from about 8am to 3pm, whereupon I will come home, bathe and go back to bed for 3-4 hours…this will last until approximately Thanksgiving. And I volunteer to do this…
sunny, you had to know that Murphy was going to make an appearance, didn’t you? Glad it all ended up well.
Usually I eat out for Sunday dinner and this was supposed to be Logan’s Roadhouse week, but I couldn’t resist so I went Firday night–Meatloaf, fries, salad, 4 rolls with butter and copious amounts of sweet tea…stuffed, I was.
I probably should be out mowing my yard, but there’s always Sunday…
Lacunae Matata, they all move out sometime; somehow I think the lad is likely to be a frequent guest at your house anyway…
I am on week two of regrowing my beard, no itching yet but it seems to be taking longer than I remember the last time I did this…
Also, Link to relevant thread. Synopsis: looking for help for someone near Baton Rouge, who had to shelter without the dog. If you have any notions or resources, I would be grateful.
FCM I wish he would get his license. At this point I’d have him take driver’s ed another time. I don’t know how I got such a shy kid who is afraid to do things. One good thing about Pokemon Go! is that now he wants to go out of the house.
I second the Pokemon Go thing. The kids want to go for walks - every day - in new places even!
I left out the part where I turned down a one lane dead end road and managed to back and turn the trailer without going into a ditch. pats back The house owner came out and said he was astonished. (So was I.)
I’z hongry. Still no stuff, but we haz found the most amazing couch ever made at CostCo. It shall be picked up and delivered to our house this afternoon. So we’ll have something to sit on besides the floor very, very soon. :D. I think this may be the first furniture purchase that is not a bookcase in 24 years of marriage, so color me happy on that front too. The college futon is getting old. No, really.
I need to go figure out how to turn on the sprinklers at the street. Everything is looking VERY crispy. I don’t mind the lawn so much, it’ll come back, but the trees and bushes are worrisome. Hopefully once the sprinklers are on again things will perk up.
Other “big” news, I made my first pot of coffee in the new house this morning!! I am a happy woman.
Like many others, I just got my hair cut, and it feels wonderful to have that shaggy mess off my neck!! I was way overdue, but the stylist did it in short order - snip snip snip! So I’m good for another 6 months.
**sari **- purdy flahrs!!! My naked ladies are blooming, but as you can see, the rest of the garden looks like crap. It needs to be weeded and the lilies need to be thinned, but between the heat and FCD’s back and just not wanting to do anything, I’ve been neglecting my yard. That’s part of why I’m thinking of asking to go to 32 hours a week this fall. We shall see!
We spent some quality time at the cee-mint pond but are now in cause ‘tis lookin’ stormy off in the distance where most of the storms come from. Plus 'tis hawt. I went down to the produce stand down at the end of our main road out this way and got some silver queen corn. 'Twill be good for dindin.
With the exception of finishing up the studio, my apartment is looking fit for human habitation. Stuff is put away and hung up in the laundry room, the bedroom, kitchen and bathroom.
I have to wonder just how did I manage to accumulate so much crap that hangs on the walls and so many kitchen linens? Five car loads to Goodwill before the move and it looks like there will be another one once I take some of the pictures out of frames for use in albums. I easily halved the kitchen linen supply, as well as the window valances and curtains that I won’t be using here.

OYKW has opted for some quality mattress time. Thus goeth the mornin’.

Quality time or *quality *time?
The spread of responses to my nose (By way of my FB profile pic) has gone about as I expected. SIL, a neighbor and a retirement-aged friend in the Carolinas expressed polite ambivalence with comments like “We love you and support you in whatever you do” and “not sure on the piercing thing.” Certainly sounds like code for “Yech!”
Meanwhile, no shortage of “it suits you” “Perfect size” and “Looks good!”
Dindin consisted of a green sallit, steak, garlic smashed N.O.T., sauted 'shrooms, baked spareguts, cheesey bread and tbone stake. YUM! We’s both stuffded.
gotti it was quality time followed by some quality time.
Tonight’s dinner: Cheeseburger Pie. We add in some crumbled bacon and extra seasonings in the ground beef. (Also minced onion from a bottle is easier then cutting your own.)
Supper is beastloaf, baked N.O.T.s and snap beans with onion and bacon. I’ll have to get the oven thermometer out, but the new oven is off. Like ~300F when it’s set for 350F. Good thing that beastloaf is pretty forgiving and the N.O.T.s could be finished off in the microwave.
