Roger Waters: The Wall Live 2010-2013. Who's been? What did you think?

This massive ongoing tour crops up from time to time in other threads, but I thought it was about time it had one of its own.

I was lucky enough to be at the O2 in London the night that David Gilmour popped up to join in for Comfortably Numb, back in May 2011. Last weekend I went to Amsterdam to see the show in its Stadium incarnation, and I’m going to Wembley this weekend.

So, who all on the Dope has seen it? What did you think? Do you agree with the politics and sentiments expressed? Were you moved, bored, awestruck?
.
My immediate thoughts:

Roger is looking damn fine for a man who’s just turned 70. He’s clearly still loving doing the show.
The spectacle of the opening is absolutely stunning. But the understated follow on with the faces on the wall - even more stunning.
“Bring the Boys Back Home”. Wow. Just… wow.
Overall, for a piece written at the end of the seventies, and generally written off by many as overblown, self-indulgent, prog rock nonsense, I reckon he’s made it amazingly relevant and moving for today’s world.

Over to you.

I’ve seen it twice, once in Las Vegas in November 2010 and then again in Edmonton last May.

It’s awesome. It’s the best show I’ve ever seen. Immediately after it ends I want it to start over again.

Of course I’m sure it helps that I am a huge fan of the source material and of Roger Waters in particular.

When is the DVD coming out?

I saw it in Raleigh and thought it was terrific. Spectacle is the right word for it too. And Waters clearly still loves performing, which made it even more enjoyable to watch.

I saw it in Nashville in 2012. Roger still sounds great and the show is amazing. I would definitely see it again.
