Rude 2026 Election Night Party Thread

While happy about the national results, I’m kinda pissed that Washington voters think children should be forced into genital examinations if they want to play organized sports.

There’s no making nice with fascists, you have to establish deterrence. Not just for the GOP, but for broader society at large. If the media and law firms and higher education bend the knee to republicans ever time they’re in power because they fear the GOP and don’t think democrats will hold them to account they have no incentive to stop. Yes, Pete Hegseth and Jared Kushner should die in prison, but the heads of Disney and Paul Weiss and the UT system need to be taught as well.

I just hate that guy so much. I used to receive emails from him, I guess because I sent him a letter about the One Big Beautiful Bill wiping out nonprofits (which it has, of course.) He would send these loaded-ass polls: “Do you think it’s important to make America safe from criminals?” Then he would use that to claim Americans supported hard-line immigration policy. I mean fuck that guy.

I just moved from a deep red county to more of a purple area and I am really enjoying it a lot more.

Almost everyone I voted for won.

Wait, what? It seems Disney heads have been defying Trump more than most. From Jimmy Kimmel and stay LGBT friendly to fighting DeSantis.

I’m disappointed in Bezos who I think should have fought more.

And obviously I think Musk is a dangerous foreign national interfering with our election process.

As of right now Colom is ahead by 65 votes. Total. We won’t know for some time who won.

Oddly, Mississippi has no recount rules for senate elections.

This is what I want to see most of all.

Enshrine in law all of the things that were previously governed by tradition and the assumption that elected representatives would behave to a set of norms… No more being beholden to “But what if we didn’t?”

I asked some random AI: “On a scale of 1 (Jalepenos) to 10 (Tsar Bomba), how big-mad do you reckon Elon is this morning?”

Response:

Talk about “buyer’s remorse”!

Here in MN, former LtGov Peggy Flanagan beat out he former sports reporter Tafoya by a hefty ten points. Flanagan is also Native American.

In my home state of Alaska, Peltola is leading, but with only 75% of the vote counted. They get a lot of mail-in votes from extremely remote areas, and then there is that stupid ranked voting that they really need to get rid of.

I live in Ingham County and was overjoyed that Tom (One Term) Barrett lost last night.

My family lives in Muskegon County and they benefitted as long term stalwart Bill Huizenga got upset.

A great night for us!

Kimmel was reinstated only due to backlash from customers not because they told Trump to pound sand in the first place. Sure, they’re not the top offender, but haven’t covered themselves in glory.

We won’t be able to pass kitchen table legislation in Congress over Trump’s veto. Let them focus on investigating and punishing Trump and his cronies. But we now completely control the governments of Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Texas, Arizona, Georgia, and a couple others I forget. That’s where we have a chance to actually show how our policies improve people’s lives and build our case for 2028.

New Texas Gov. Hinojosa is thanking Illinois Gov JB Pritzker for supporting her financially and with his endorsement during her primary campaign. Our guy can pick winners!!

I’m not too sure of that. I posted this earlier, but I wonder if a veto-proof coalition is possible, now that the rats see the ship sinking—particularly when they see how kitchen table issues so predominated the discourse in this election.

I find it easier to imagine GOP Senators throwing Trump under the bus than I do imagining them actually voting for economic populist legislation, though.

You may be right, but I think this election puts every seat in jeopardy, and these guys define “craven.” We’ll see, but I can picture these assholes crafting an “I told them we needed to focus on affordability, if only they had listened to me” narrative.

Pope Leo is having an audience with Bob Dylan today. I would love to be a fly on the wall for that conversation!

Sen. Ed Markey: “They are going to need to plant new forests for all the subpoenas we’ll be printing”.

INJECT THIS SHIT INTO MY VEINS!!

You should have asked Grok instead of a random AI to help push him to a 9

Seen on social media: “It’s like Mamdami was your first really nice boyfriend, and then all your friend group realized “We don’t have to date losers anymore, either!””

Also,

Campaign messages that proved surprisingly ineffective:

  • “You probably weren’t really molested”
  • “Why does James Talarico keep sucking my cock?”
  • “Oh, so I guess we’re just normalizing medical debt delinquency now?”
  • “AES is a threat to the Jews, just ask this Protestant lady who sounds like Cornholio”.

OMG that’s too precious and good to be true! But I’m afraid not much of the audience will be reported, given the restraint both parties are known to hold.
