I was just reading about the proposed swap of Polish jets to the US, US to Ukraine, with new jets from US to Poland. It’s not clear that the US is aligned with that plan yet, but it may just be that press announcements are out of sync.
I think it’s just as likely that the US is leaving things deliberately ambiguous, in order to confuse Russia, while still planning to give the jets to Ukraine as soon as Ukrainian pilots can come to Rammstein base and get them.
Adobe is no longer selling in Russia, and I think they may have blocked Russian government entities from accessing the Experience, Document, and Creative Cloud. And, of course, since Russian entities and people can no longer pay for their subscriptions, they’re likely to be cut off at the next billing cycle.
The Afghans do have experience with driving a superpower out of their borders… if you’re going to go for someone for advice in such matters they aren’t a bad choice.
I looked at the first few and I don’t think they were really all that good. You immediately run into the problem that one tank/APC sitting in a snow covered field looks pretty much just like another. I wouldn’t take as gospel that any of the dates on the photos are necessarily correct either. We’ve already seen a ton of fakes debunked.
Are any of those links of the 56 tank convoy that was reportedly destroyed almost two weeks ago? Because I’m still waiting to see pictures of 56 destroyed tanks in one locale. You’d think some of those Ukrainians would have gleefully posted photos and videos of that all over the internet by now.
As I said, I’d like the numbers to be true, I just don’t think they are.
I almost got a picture of them together, but Vlad stepped in front of Adolf at the last second and totally blocked my view of Adolf. A split second sooner and I would have had my proof. Now all I have is a pic of Vlad with a small pair of jackboots behind him.
But there’s nothing ambiguous about it. Everyone knows about it, there is no attempt to hide it at all. All it really accomplishes is to draw the US closer to being an active participant and makes it harder for Ukrainians to get the aircraft they are desperate for. If it was announced it will happen in Germany, but the Ukrainians get the aircraft directly from Poland, that would be a better idea. Pretty much the same cover story, but the aircraft get there faster.
I don’t know why that’s of any relevance. I agree that a lot of the reporting is bad. This list only contains cases where photographic evidence is available. The true numbers are probably much higher.
I dispute this. Do you really think this:
Can’t be distinguished from this?:
There are numerous details which make them obviously different.
However, a salient point is that Poland made the announcement without first consulting with the US, which reportedly hasn’t yet decided how to respond. Which is sort of odd because delivering Russian-made fighter jets to Ukraine was one of Blinken’s three key strategies against Russia that were recently announced.
That Polish plane deal is quite interesting: it can’t be one country doing it alone as that exposes them to Russian anger and possible repercussions. So it has to be done with multiple countries. But it can’t be a NATO. So it all has to be done really opaquely. Of course Russia knows what’s going on, but they don’t quite know exactly who to point the finger at except “the West”.
