Is this a whoosh? The **bedsprings **were making that noise.
I was born in 1971. She’ll always be Frog from the Bandit movies AFAIC.
- The Flying Nun.
- Her acceptance speech for the Oscar for Norma Rae, as Stephe96 quoted
- Smokey and the Bandit (and, for that matter, being Burt Reynolds’s squeeze for a while there)
Flying Nun
My only regret…is that I have… boneitis.
I’ll always remember her for playing my mom’s mom in that movie they did.
She also is/was in “Brothers and Sisters” which althogh I’ve seen maybe 5 episodes of came first to mind since it is the most recent thing I’ve seen her in other than commercials.
Brian
Sally Field is a very, very, accomplished and professional actress.
I’ll always remember her as “Giget” in the two-piece bathing suit!
I hope she continues her career for many years to come. (She’s a sweetie!)
I’ll second remembering her as Abby’s bi-polar mom in ER. I cried a good bit watching those episodes.

[li]Correction: for Places in the Heart[/li][li](And the actual quote is: “You like me, right now, you like me!”)[/li][/ul]
She’s Frog to me. I picture her in her wedding dress standing next to the highway. And also dancing her feet on the windshield of Bandit’s Trans Am.
I did! That’s always what I think of first with relation to Sally Field. To me, she is and always will be Gidget.
And yes, I’m old, I guess. I was a young kid when Gidget was popular, and I wanted to be a fun cute surfing teenager like she was.
Gidget! Yeah!
And “Places in the Heart” – yeah! I can’t comment on “Stay Hungry” since I’ve never seen it. Maybe I should at least look it up.
How can so many people who thought “The Flying Nun” first not think of “Gidget” instead?
Oh, well, she’s done a remarkable job of staying hot over the decades since.
She looks pretty good for her age I admit, but hot? That requires photographic evidence. Back your claims good sir!
Back to say that my first thought was The Flying Nun, followed by Norma Rae and then ER. Actually, I could list dozens of her roles. I just thought it was interesting that Mrs. Doubtfire was the only thing that came to mind for the DJs; she’s done a lot since then, not only before then.
Or Anusol. But honestly, I just now got that Bone -> Boniva thing. I think I was thinking of bon = good. :smack:
I remember her for Norma Rae, Places in the Heart, and Soapdish.
I always think of Smokey and the Bandit first, then “You really like me!”, then Norma Rae.
That’s the most recent thing I’ve seen her in, but the role I remember most is the main character in Murphy’s Romance.
So, who has Sally in the Doper Dead Pool anyway?
