Happy Christmas everyone!!

We had a family Christmas Eve get together. 26 lb turkey, huge ham. I feel like Garfield. A huge bowling ball with feet. Erg. We had a lot of fun. (Apparently, there is a card game called “Exploding Kittens” - the kids loved it.)

Christmas Day, and a merry one to you all!

Lunch with my 88 year old Mother at a buffet she claims will be worth the trouble, and I hope so.

Tonight I believe I’ll imbibe a quaff of Drambuie (straight), or possibly Glenlivet (neat).

Peace.

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to work. Double shift today.

George, I had some Tullamore Dew last night. I felt I should get into the holiday spirit.

I managed to get about 5 hours of slumber, more or less. The critters have been tended to, the cat box is clean, and the pellet stove had been refilled. I’m having a bowl of corn chex (generic) to tide me over till the mega-feed at my bro’s house.

We’ve got to stop for gas - I forgot to fill the car yesterday. The afghans and shawls are in the car, the gifts are staged next to the door, and when SIL gets up, I have to steal the electric mattress pad he’s been using - I promised it to my sister. (He’s been sleeping in the basement because he’s recovering from a badly sprained ankle, and he didn’t want to worry about my daughter kicking it… so he says. I think he just likes staying up all night playing video games.)

We did family gifts last night - “Roxy” gave me a personalized t-shirt with word cloud art about her and me. I’ll post a pic on FB - it’s really neat. I’ll be wearing it today, with a color-coordinated cardigan so I don’t look like a total slob. Roxy got more clothes from her other grandmother, as well as socks and a 3T (???) sweatshirt from my MIL. Maybe it’ll fit her in 2 years.

We’ll be heading out in about 2 hours. Higgs is staying home, but Cozmo is going with us because he can’t be trusted not to pee all over the house. Fa lalalalala, etc.

Merriest of Merries to all!

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN 'Tis 34 Amurrkin out and N.O.S. with a predicted high of 62 and N.O.S. for the day. If’n kiddies do still get stuff from Santa they can play with outside, today will be a good day for that. Is stuff like bikes and skates still a Christmas thing? I shall go festivate around noonish. With any luck I can get outta there in a couple of hours. Truth be told, I’d just rather stay here in da cave. However I shall go, pound cake in tow.

Isami all my apparel is of the gay kind.

Everyone hittin’ the road for any distance (I am goin’ a whole six miles) be safe out there.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!! HO! HO! HO!

Also Happy Tuesday Y’all!

Well hubby was making coffee and did everything except put the damn pot under it. Messy mess. It’s all cleaned up now. Is it gonna be that kind of day?

Merry Christmas everyone. I have some cooking to do. I got up stupid early to deal with the turkey and it is thawed. Better be good.

Happy Toosday!

Merry Christmas!

I’m running a bit behind this morning, have to leave in less than an hour and I’m still getting ready.
I have to stop for gas as well.

My son is up and opened the remaining gift, he opened one last night (a puzzle that he solved in under 5 minutes) and one the night before (a puzzle that took him quite a while to solve). Today’s puzzle seems to be a challenge for him.

It’s a cold 28 degrees outside but suppose to warm up to 41 later today.

Ripple was a wild one last night, wouldn’t settle down and let me sleep. If I closed him in the bedroom with me he scratched to get out, if I shut him out he scratched to get in, so I left the door open and my son chased him up and down the stairs to wear him out. As long as the bedroom door was open Ripple was happy.

Soon I’ll be heading to my niece’s house, about 70+miles. Shouldn’t take much more than an hour but I always allow two for traffic.

Merry Christmas to all! Had a wonderful family Christmas on Sunday, and Christmas Eve dinner with friends. Fortunately today is a quiet one because I came down with the ick. Coughing and stuffy/runny nose. I may visit Ariel. Food will be leftovers.

george, it’s been a long time since I’ve had drambuie. Many years ago, I enjoyed drinking a rusty nail after irk on a regular basis.

doggio, I’m making bourbon brown sugar glazed ham for the feast today and some of that bourbon will likely be sampled by the chef. :stuck_out_tongue:

Merry Christmas!

It’s a quiet day. I invited a couple of friends and a neighbor who didn’t have family around in for the feast kind of last minute. We’re having bourbon brown sugar glazed ham, sweet potatoes, fried cabbage, green beans, fried apples, some hand dipped peanut butter balls and chili chawklit peanut patties, and, since there are folks coming over and it is a holiday, I’m fixing to make an orange pound cake.

Tomorrow, it’s back to irk for a few days before taking off for some more time.

I only have three days of irk and then it’s another four day weekend. I could get used to this.

Turkey in the oven, cornbread done for dressing, onions and celery chopped. I think the giblets are on for gravy and I need to boil some eggs for deviled eggs. Some greens and cranberry sauce will round out the meal. We finally learned not to make 10 different sides for just the two of us.

I thought we were getting a carrot cake but have not seen it yet.

All purtified and dressed appropriately for the public. I shall head out shortly but honestly would rather just stay home. Oh well, a couple hours of makin’ merry and it will all be over. Plus, OYKW called and he has decided to come back tomorrow instead of Firday. YAY!!! Think he’s had his fill of family.

{{{WetOne}}} feel better soonest!

Had dinner with the close by kids last night. Chickie pot pie from Costco, An oriental salad, also from Costco. Chickie thighs and mac n cheese. No dessert. I think we just forgot. We had punkin pie on the counter.

We’re going back over there in a few for the traditional opening of the presents. The Grandson is still at home, He’s 15, when he’s moves out in a few years we’ll probably move any present opening to afternoon. I have no idea what’s for dinner, except cherry pie, which is sitting on our stove at present.

Right now I’m setting up my Fitbit Versa. I got one for Wifey and one for myself.
Wifey bought me a Columbia Sportswear jacket to replace the one I’ve been wearing for the last 20 years. She says it’s looking ‘tacky’. I think it’s just getting broken in.

For those of you celebrating holidays, have a Happy!!

I made festive and merry. Then I came back to da cave and achieved nappage. It’s a tossup as to the one I enjoyed most, though I am leanin’ towards the nappage. I had a good time, just glad to be back at home.

Just woke from a 2 hour nap. It felt good. I’m munching cheese and crackers while watching a documentary on the 2000 Sydney Olympics. It’s 45 and sunny. Hardly Christmas weather.

Merry Christmas! Looks like it may be a white one after all, up on the Big Island summits. Meanwhile, here in Waikiki it’s 80 degrees at 11:52am.

MERRY
CHRISTMAS
TO ALL!!!

Generally just vegged out and relaxed. Did some laundry and adult things but just those I wanted to do; nothing that needed done. Dinner will be green beans and pork-chops in an hour or so.

And tomorrow back to Siberian Box Mines local #419.

Home at last! It was a nice time at my bro’s, but I’m beat and glad to be home. Roxy made out like a bandit, and she was a real trouper! Minimal fussiness and maximum cuddles from just about everyone.

One of the coolest things she got was a wicker pram that belonged to Jim’s wife. It’s a genuine antique, and in wonderful condition. **FCD **needs to do a minor repair on the handle, but other than that, it’s perfect! She didn’t get many toys, but she got lots of clothes and a baby corral. It’ll be great for when my daughter is working, but it’ll take up most of the free space in the living room.

Our goofy exchange was relatively mild, and I ended up with a tub of 72 nail clippers. My SIL brought them, and they were bestowed upon me by my cousin who stole my chocloates!!! Anybody need a pair of nail clippers?

I’ve popped a melatonin and I’m hoping for a decent sleep, since I’ve got work tomorrow. I’m glad this day is over.
