I got a call for another interview with the Evil Hospital. It’s in the same building I was in last week, but for a different department. I hope I get something soon. I got approved for 3 months of FNS but I need to be working to get it extended.
Sadly, I don’t think we can blame her lack of posting on hating plant; after all, we hate him too but we still post here.
Maybe it’s just to cover up the noise of the saw that he’s using to cut up the bodies.
Methinks you should stand guard at the peephole; iffn you see him coming in with a bag, go out & see if it contains tarps, duct tape, &/or cleaning supplies.
What should we do with this wench? keelhaul her, flog her, or both?
Arrrr.
We had thunder and lighting last night. The power kept going out and coming back on, which had the added bonus of turning on the overhead light in my room each time (don’t ask). It was an interesting night.
Mooommm glad to hear Sari is ok.
Fridge repairman is hear. Repairing by manual, which I coulda done, and decided not to do. :smack: oh well. Hopefully it will at least get fixed.
Despite my best efforts.
Very bizzy morning!! I was in search of 4 screws and 4 washers on a drawing and I just couldn’t figure out where they needed to be called out. Josh figured it out, when he figured out that he picked the wrong size screws. It’s all good now.
The boss gave me what should have been a fairly simple drawing, but he didn’t finish the model or specify the hardware, so I had to figure it all out and add it to the model. Once I’m done with lunch, I’ll try to get it done this afternoon.
Then Josh sent me an email titled “Just a few drawings” - he’s so funny. Apparently “few” in his world means 50-100. So I shall be bizzy for a while.
Good thing I love my job.
Made a foray off base to the Target and got more beer. I am a refugee.
Can’t argue with you about the beer. I hope things are getting closer to getting you back home. Any news on Maria?
Howdy Y’all! Last load of laundry (towels) is in the dryer. I’ve had N.O.L. and made some homemade mac ‘n cheese for tonight. I am also cookin’ some peas, butterbeans, and okra together. Now I can sloth a while until time to get the towels out of the dryer, folded and put back where they stay.
Waiting for a drawing to print. I can’t do anything else but surf. Poor me…
My timing was impeccable today; finished mowing the lawn 35 minutes before the tunder-boomers and rain moved into the neighborhood. Looks like it’s passing through the area pretty quickly, so soccer practice is still a possibility.
Butters, enjoy your beer(s). I imagine it is boring being cooped up that far from home and family.
FCM, So…Josh screwed up but it all came out in the wash?
“Well, you know, our pitching is starting to come around and with some of the younger hitters in the minors really developing, I expect that we’ll be contending for the Pennant in the next few years here in Pittsburg…”
What? It’s talk like a Pirate day, isn’t it?

The sacrifices that you make!
How helpful are cats with a puppy? Answer: Not. They make a low growling noise designed to taunt the puppy, while remaining just out of reach. Pepper then yips shrilly. It’s a “great” game.
Fridge is not fixed. It needs a new board, which requires parts. 2 more weeks. Sigh.
Other than that, not much is happening. Happy Moanday.
Mrs. Plant (v.2.0) introduced a new puppy by placing her crate in a x-pen.
Her daughter’s cat sat on top of the crate and swatted any part of the puppy that came within sight and reach.
Avast ye scurvey dogs! Tis after work and time for the grog.
So your problem is that you have a screw loose?
Butters, yay beer! Boo cabin fever.
Dindin has been ingested. OYKW just left for an irk related thingy and will spend the night at his place as he has to be somewhere at six a.m. and it’s closer from there than da cave. Thus I am left to my own devices. Hope I don’t burn the place down.
So I went out to dinner with my late sisters best friend Dee. We had a really good time but I didn’t get into the heavy conversations about my sister’s probable abuse that I’d been considering asking about. We kept to the pleasant memories - although I found it interesting that Dee seemed to remember me and my sister and her and her sisters as being the 4 Musketeers, although I really was the “odd man out” on the occasions I did hang out with them.
But one reason I kept it light was I thought I was going to see Dee again later this week - then something happened at home and she had to leave sooner than she expected. But I’ll see her again - if she doesn’t come back to NYC this fall I’ll see her when I go visit my family and Christmas. No matter what happened in the past, I have a new friend now.
Situation. My colleague and myself are the last two that flew out of KW that are still here. Everyone else had made their way home. Cars are tough to rent in Jax due to extreme flooding they had here from the storm but I think we can get one at the airport. We have colleagues that are still here with their own cars. So I have a ride lined up and was all ready to rent a mini van so me and friend and pets could make our way home. Then she starts quibbling about us getting reimbursed or not. At this point I do not care if I get reimbursed or not. The Navy has flown us all over the country, put us up for almost two weeks and will pay us for food.
I think screw her. I will go to the airport in the morning and rent a vehicle with or without her. Then if she wants a ride she best be ready. Why are some people so freaking selfish??
I am an adult still being paid even though I have done nothing in almost two weeks. It will not kill me or break me to rent a blasted vehicle to get home.
People piss me off.
Ahoy mateys!
Irk was irksome. When I came home, the order of dog food and a nylon travel playpen that will fit under the counter in Dad’s kitchen for when we go up in a couple of weeks. It’s light enough for me to carry, unlike his crate at home.
**Butters **- that reminds me of a coworker from my pre-retirement days. I had to go to a conference in Monterrey with him, and like an idiot, I let him make the arrangements. He viewed travel as an opportunity to pocket as much of the per diem as possible. So he booked us into a cheezy hotel far from the conference site so he could get a room with a mini-fridge and a microwave. Then we drove to a grocery store so he could get his food for the duration. I had to beg for the car keys so I could go eat real food in a real restaurant. He, like I, was a GS-13, so it’s not like he was scraping by on minimum wage. He was just a cheap ass…
We ordered pizza for supper. My car is at the shop for its servicing and I’ll be driving the truck tomorrow because **FCD **will be working really late. ick. I’ve been crocheting and we’re watching TV and it’s a chill evening.
Well I’m a day late and a burger short in getting to the MMP.
We have a local burger place that is particularly awesome. I love a good bacon cheeseburger on a pretzel bun with Wild West sauce. Sounds delicious!
This week I am looking forward to the marathon this weekend where I am running a 6.2 mile leg as part of a relay team. Otherwise I’ve been kind of cranky. Friday was an awful day at work and it’s basically expected to continue until someone in my class adjusts to their new meds. Today there was a tablet flying that ended in a near miss with someone’s head. I do not blame the child. It’s just a crappy situation all the way around. But it is very stressful and I don’t want to deal with this much stress indefinitely.
