Scrubs 4/11

Some really good lines last night.

Where else on television can a white guy call a black guy “My Negro Amigo” and have it be completly innocent?

I loved the “You can’t make fun of HIS son” bit. That is so true. Even for a heartless bastard like Kelso.

In case you missed it over the weekend, it looks like Scrubs will be renewed next season.

“He was the greatest pink-bellyer in all the land. . .”

“I can’t believe those kids are playing with the dead guy’s butt hamster.”

“Macho, macho man! I want to be a macho man!”

“And I’m cool with that.”

“Oh, you’re so clever and cantankerous, like House, without the cane.” Yow! Score one for Bob-O.

I liked the nod to Arrested Development. (“Hey, little brother.”)

Unless I’m mistaken, but I think it was deliberate.

Probably not; Tom Cavanagh’s first appearance as JD’s older brother was in 2002 (pre-AD) and his first line in the episode (just checked the DVD) is “Hey, little brother.”

Did anyone else think that Tom Cavanagh looked awful? He was obviously wearing a lot of makeup, he was very pale, and he looked thin. Is he all right? Does anyone know?

Was it cane or limp?

My wife and I noticed as well.

It was limp, I’m quite sure.* Good catch.
*I hate it when I have to use that phrase.

Yeah, I was wondering why he had so much eyeliner on. I was preparing myself for some kind of visual gag, but nothing.

I missed this thread last week, but did anyone think it was somewhat balsy for Scrubs to mention a show (House) that goes up against it? I mean, someone could say, “Damn, that’s right, House!” and change the channel to Fox (I DVR both, so no worries for me!)… though it was a great line :D.

I loved that line, mostly because I also like House and ultimatly always choose Scrubs. Though sometimes I am known to “squire” that week’s House later on and watch it. I like House, but admit it’s very formulaic, but damn if just watching Hugh Laurie isn’t awesome. He could make any show watchable.

[hijack]Hey, how do you DVR two shows that are on simultaneously? This would solve a lot of problems at Casa de singular. Do have a Dish DVR?[/hijack]

Your DVR should be able to do it more or less automatically. Just go to the program guide and tell it to record both.

One caveat is that most DVRs only have two tuners. So you can be “using” at most two channels at a time (whether recording both, or recording one and watching one), so as an example, when you tell the DVR to record both Scrubs and House, you can’t watch CBS at the same time (although why you would want to when two brilliant shows are on is beyond me!).

Nah, I got a Comcast DVR. It has a dual tuner.
