SDMB All-Pro Fantasy Football 2017

Is it too much to ask that I have Derek Carr retroactively placed into my starting line-up? My yahoo keeps getting hacked and I keep losing access to the league pages. I have to sit on the phone with ATT to get access to my account each time and it takes forever, and this last time happened while out of country, so I didn’t want to spend the minutes on the phone until I got back.

My other QB was on a bye and Carr would have been my only other choice.

Oh shit, Retro, I didn’t get that message when you made it. I don’t know why. I would’ve allowed it, of course, but since I didn’t see it until weeks later it’s too late to go back and change it I think. I looked it up and fortunately it didn’t change the outcome of your game, although it did cost you 30 points, I’m sorry.

My team is kind of a monster. Unlucky start to go 4-4, highest score in the league by 50 points. I get to play one of the current top seeds this week so I can really start working on claiming a bye though with a win.

And at a very opportune week too, with all my best players on bye and having just lost Deshaun Watson for the season. So that luck can even out both ways.

What exactly is the tiebreaker for playoff seeding? “Best regular season record vs opponent wins” doesn’t make any sense to me, and anything record-based could always require additional tiebreaking.

Also is there any way to view a whole fantasy team’s schedule? I think that’s the last big thing on Yahoo I haven’t figured out yet.

I think total points for the season is the tiebreaker.

To see a schedule, go to the league page, and under where it says Standings, click schedule. You can then select any player.

No worries. I wasn’t too worried about it, and even felt weird asking.

Quite a lot of bunching. Five teams at 6-3, one 5-4, two 4-5s. And even the 2-7 team has scored 900+ points.

The bunching is good, it means I can blast through all your faces at once to claim my bye week.

Yahoo is warning everyone the default trade date is the 11th, but I extended it out 2 weeks (latest possible date) as I do in all my leagues since we’re not a public league that needs to be protected from bad late season behavior.

I’ll trade Demaryius Thomas, Jarvis Landry, or Emmanuel Sanders for a top tier defense with a good playoff schedule. I guess I’ll look it up tomorrow and send out some offers.

Well I lost Zeke for the season, but I feel like my team is probably strong enough to overcome it.

This will be the last week trading is available.

I went to check if my score this week was a season high for the league, and it turns out I missed it by .21 points, barely losing out to… my own week 4 score. The top 3 scores this season were all 156-something, coincidentally.

Head to head is finally coming out my way, having gone from 7th to 2nd over the last few weeks. I’ve got a solid edge on points scored over the rest of the league so hopefully I can lock up a bye.

There’s a gap for playoff bound teams that may keep the playoff race from getting too exciting - the 6th and 7th place teams are currently seperated by 2 wins. It’s certainly possible for someone else to make it into the playoff picture, but right now we’re probably mostly fighting for the bye weeks.

Yeah looks like 8 is the magic number of wins to clinch a playoff spot, and now there’s only three teams fighting for two spots left.

Go D_Odds!

Thanks, I think. Or are you just looking for an easy playoff win.

Been a weird year for me in FF. Here, I’m just hanging on by a thread, and it could unravel in a heartbeat.

I just want you to beat SenorBeef so I can listen to him bitch about how unlucky he was and unfairly left out of the playoffs, after listening to him rosterbate all season long.

Well, I won, but he made the playoffs and I made the top of the consolation round. :frowning:

Yeah. My first thought was that I had overlooked that you guys played twice (and split) meaning that it went to points as the second tiebreaker. However I got the 2nd spot over Chisquirrel despite my losing in our only matchup. So I guess points was the only tiebreaker. That bye is much welcome though with Gronk suspended.

C’mon fellas, say it with me…

Three-peat!
Three-peat!

We have our playoffs.

  1. The Great Old Ones (Ol’Gaffer) - Bye

One thing I’ve done for a few seasons now in my other league(s) is put together a ‘scheduling luck’ graph that ranks all the teams weekly by points scored, and assigns them a win share based on how many teams they would’ve beaten, and then adds them up over the season to figure out the ‘expected’ record if they played everyone every week.

Graphs: https://i.imgur.com/HmuHthv.png

Graph on the left shows actual record vs. expected record, whereas the one on the left puts the difference in easy-to-read bar graphs. (Omni and Overly Sentimental are the two sharing the same spot on the bottom left)

Unsurprisingly, SenorBeef is the unluckiest in this regard, and should’ve finished about 9-4. RNATB and Frosted Glass both ended up a win below expectations as well. Chisquirrel was the luckiest, finishing 9-4 when he should’ve been more like 6-6-1. Gaffer and Munch also finished a win higher than expected, with everyone else within less than 1 win of their actual record.

In the end it was mostly academic, since the top six expected records are also the same six who made the playoffs (albeit with some seed shuffling). Chisqurrel’s expected wins of 6.55 barely squeeze out d_odds’ 6.36 for the sixth spot.

Bonus line graph of points scored if you wanna follow everyone’s peaks and valleys.

I got the feeling I was exceptionally lucky…but to beat the spread by 2.5 games? Hold my beer, I’m winning this thing!

Would like to see that last graph as cumulative points.
