SDMB Christmas Exchange 2012

I will be departing for Christmas with the family this Friday. My package hasn’t arrived yet but I’ll be able to extend Christmas when I get back in January!

I wasn’t able to get to it either until that one. That is a pretty cool bracelet. Any idea of where it came from?

It’s here! It’s here! I got my package today and, of course, opened it immediately. It’s a coffee mug from Umpqua (awesome name!) Community College. I bet I’m the only one in the office who will have one. Thanks, Lancia! I will be drinking my french vanilla roast out of it tomorrow morning…

USPS tracking says my giftee’s package was delivered today! Yay!

Nothing in my box yet, though.

Tracking indicates my giftee has received the package I sent! Still (anxiously) waiting for mine!

I received my gift today! I think so, anyway. There was no indication of who sent it but I assume it came from here. Putting it under the tree till Christmas.

Even if you opened it there would still be no indication, due to the vendor’s settings (grumble grumble grumble). It’s from me – enjoy!

So how was the chocolate bar and the other tea Twicks?

All right! I sent that out Monday; the mails sure did quick work. I’m glad you like it!

‘Umpqua’ is the local Indian tribe, and their namesake has been applied locally to many things. In fact, if you have a copy of “One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest” handy, flip it open to the first page or two, where he’s describing the Big Nurse: the Umpqua Indians are mentioned as the local tribe (selling baskets by the highway IIRC) There is a reason for this… Kesey got the idea for the novel here in Roseburg, OR and not Menlo Park as is usually thought. The mental hospital that was used as the inspiration for the novel is still standing right in the center of town, and still in use.

And it was full of purple cooking goodies <squee> and a nice smelling soap!

Many many thanks!

[a nice paring knife, a basting brush and set of spatulas, and an egg timer - all very useful, and purple!]

Oh my gosh. FloatyGimpy, the slippers are a knockout! How did you make all the sqaures just the right size for my feet? I will really enjoy them on chilly nights, especially when I sleep outside. I put the earrings on my ears first thing, a great match for what I am wearing today. You have me covered head to toe, I am sure the chocolate will go right to my middle.

aloha and mahalo~

The chocolate was excellent. The spicy tea is really good, but not as omigod as the almond tea, which is unlike anything I’ve ever had..

The egg timer really works, too! I’ve used mine for years every time I boil eggs. Perfect every time. I hope you enjoy everything and have a great Christmas!

Awesome!

I made the slippers, got the earrings from a local craft fair and then thought the box didn’t look full enough, so I got some chocolate for it.

So happy you liked it!

My gift was sent Monday, sorry it went out later than expected. I ran into some difficultly getting the gift I wanted to send.

I will be back home next week and will report my expected joy on opening my gift.

I still have no idea who my gift was from. The one I sent looks like it cleared customs and got to the post office yesterday, so I guess it will be delivered today!

I got a gift wrapped package from Amazon. The card on the package says its from Nefarious Chipmunk. Thank you!

I’ll wait until Christmas to open the package. I just put it under our tree. Then I’ll post here again after opening it.

Getting excited to dive into the presents. he he  There’s only 5 more days.

Hopefully your Secret Santa will reveal him/herself to you by Christmas day, either here or in a PM.

Wasn’t me, by the way.

I got mine today, I haven’t opened the box yet as I don’t know if it’s wrapped or not. Anaamika, let me know if it’s wrapped so I can put it under the tree to open on Christmas morning like a little kid.

The chocolate broke into slices just like it said. Very cool. I am very impressed.
