I must say, @JaneDoe42 included Mylar in my gift and that stuff has overtaken a cardboard box and the stinky sock pile for Mayme’s affection.
My gift is still sitting in Chicago. It’s pretty sad that I have the tracking number memorized.

For a last minute idea, I think we can call this year’s Christmas gift exchange a rousing success.
Here is a suggestion for the next exchange, maybe a couple of months down the road- A Personal Book Exchange, where we exchange books we already own and would like to share(for good or ill ), No new books, and must indicate what languages you can read.
What do y’all think?
Sounds like a good idea. It’ll be a mystery from me~that’s about all I read. I’ve gotten to be a pretty good judge of mysteries.
Good idea!
I’m not dead yet!
Work is unbelievably bad and on a slight vacation so I haven’t been able to check in, but here I am for a bit.
Here are the updated standings…am I missing anyone?

Also I have to chuckle at the book exchange idea because the last time I managed an exchange it was a summer book exchange. It didn’t do that particularly well the first time, and the second time I tried it no one wanted in. I’m all for it though!
@Nayna I’m so glad you loved everything! Happy New Year!
Sounds fun to me! I speak and read fluent American, although I get by in English in a pinch.
Yay my giftee’s package is out for delivery according to USPS! Also, count me in for the book exchange, I read English, American, and in a pinch French.
My package has been sent out. Last week I think.
I got a delivery today from @Nayna! And everything was individually wrapped - nice touch
I got a super cute T-Rex keychain (with moving feet and tail!), adorable pineapple notecards (extra handy I needed these!), a little notebook that looks like it’s made from recycled corks (kind of obsessed with the texture!), and a little frosty snowman that will match my other snowman friends!
Thank you so much, Nayna!! Love it all!
I came home from my mini-getaway to a wonderful package from Swampspruce! Inside was a fun local t-shirt, 2 authentic Canadian beers and, the best part, some delicious beef jerky! How did you know that Mrs. Cups is most definitely addicted to jerky and looooves it. Not only that, it’s space jerky (it’s literally been to space).
Thanks so much!
So that leaves Swampspruce, rocking chair, and emilyg as our only holdouts so far?
Yay! I’m so glad it got there OK! The shirt is from the brewery that made the beer, which is local as well. Hamel’s (the butcher) has sent jerky on multiple missions to the ISS, and they make a pretty good variety of other flavours. FWIW, they also ship to the US… I’m partial to the teriyaki and bison.
I haven’t seen a parcel yet but with all the madness of the Season and Covid I’m not surprised.
Let me know what you thought of the beer.
My gift finally landed in the correct country, but is currently 2800 kilometers away from it’s ultimate destination.
It’s progress, I guess?
It’s a (Ukrainian) Christmas Miracle! FWIW, I am neither Ukrainian or Catholic but SWMBO is so it still counts!
Just before lunch I heard the creeping footsteps of the Postie and she lands a box on my front porch from a far off foreign land (Minnesota, Donchaknow). I tear open the package and it’s gifts from the incandescent and ever Lovely @MissTake !

First, a beautiful card!
Second, a beautiful blue mug from Dancing Bear full of chokkies (which I may begrudgingly share) suitable for hot chocolate or coffee, or tea.
Two bottles of hot sauce; one a mix of jalapeno, serrano, and habanero with Caribbean and citrus notes that immediately went into my lunch of chicken stew. The second was carolina reaper pepper sauce that comes in all sweet and smoky and then, Boom! Most excellent! I’ll be making wings with those I think. And nary a tear shed!
A bag of organic coffee beans from Peru that smells incredible and will be in the Aeropress tomorrow morning!
Finally, tissue paper that was enthusiastically absconded forthwith by the Dastardly Duo!
This made an otherwise kind of crappy day much better, so a most heartfelt Thank You from all of us!
I’m glad it finally arrived! It took 12/14 - 01/06 to get to Montreal, but barely 24 hours to your doorstep.
Everything is Minnesotan, cuz that’s how I roll.
And the Cry Baby hot sauce is fabulous!
I don’t think it’s gonna last long…
I got several beautifully-wrapped gifts in a package! Thank you to whoever sent it (from Europe!) - I don’t think your SDMB name was on the package?
I have photos. I’ll post them as soon as I can.
We’re almost done! Only one more person needs to get their package and the gifter posted and said it was on its way. Hopefully soon we can have a completed exchange!
I put my SDMB name in the “from” part of the address. But I am glad to learn that the package arrived.
It says that the package I sent was delivered
