I’m fine with it. Thursday night games are a pain. The intent would have been clear.
No objection from me, but again, oddly, it’s up to Justin.
My opponent (Retro) hasn’t set his lineup yet and has three starters on a bye. If that’s still the case at 1:00, you can pop in obvious starters for those three. I’m thinking Cousins, Lazard, and Smith. (Three highest projections.)
I’m going to be pissed if I lose by less than seven points, but yeah, it’s only fair to let Beef make the switch.
I’ll try to beat you by a bigger margin. Thanks.
So I may have been wrong about Hamlet’s slump - he’s about to drop his fourth straight game and go to .500. Though to be fair, he only just got Mahomes and David Johnson back.
"As a team, we’re very disappointed at the losses. But we’re a team. We’re going to fight through this adversity and come out next week prepared and ready. I know a lot of our fans are going to be blaming the injuries or the insane amount of points against, but this is a next man up kind of league and we know we have to play better.
It’s on me. Don’t be blaming JuJu or David for underperforming, I’m not doing my job. But my guys still have that fight. They’re out there every practice, working hard, doing what is best for the team. All we have to do is keep doing that and the wins will come."
Also, fuck fantasy football.
“You guys in the media keep telling us we can’t win. We’ll take that. We’ll use that. You media guys have never played the game. You don’t know what it’s like to put your blood and sweat on the field like my team does every damn day. But I guess that’s the media culture we’re in now. So keep telling our guys they can’t cut it anymore, and we’ll go out there and prove you wrong.”
“NO MORE QUESTIONS!”
“Playoffs??!?”
“We had a really good practice out there today. We’re keeping our heads down and working hard on the fundamentals. Mike Thomas and Keenan Allen are giving 110%. Chris Carson and Marlon Mack are grinding away. We’re just going to take it one game at a time.”
“How many times do I have to say it to you media types? We’re taking it one game at a time. We’re not looking ahead to inter-divisional games coming up or the playoffs. We’re preparing for Overly Sentimental and only Overly Sentimental.”
“Look, they’re a good football team. They’ve lost a couple important guys to injuries, but they’re better than their record says. There’s a lot of young talent on that team, and we’ve got to be at our best to beat them. DeShaun Watson is an MVP candidate, and Todd Gurley is Todd Gurley.”
“There are no easy games in this league.”
I now have *three *tight ends on IR.
Can I interest you in one lightly used Kyle Rudolph?
“We’re treating every game like the playoffs. Our back is against the wall, and unless wins start coming, we may be sitting at home in December. We’re looking to play within ourselves, take it to the next level, and step it up on the biggest stages. When this started, no one gave us a chance, but we’re out here working hard every day, and that’s all that I ask from our team.”
Oh Josh Allen you beautiful moose.
“I’m really proud of our guys and how they battled. We beat a very good team this week, and our guys left everything out there on the field. Everyone knows, Marlon’s been having this incredible year, so losing him is going to be an issue. But this is a next man up league and nobody is going to be crying for our team. We’re hoping to manufacture more touches for Devin, we like what we’ve seen of him.”
One damn fantasy point, ugh.
“Your guys really had the fight in them today, but you didn’t score enough points to win the game. These kinds of losses can stick with you, but it’s a week to week league, and you can chop wood in practice this week. You gotta remember what got you to this point and focus on the fundamentals.”
“We had a really good week of practice. I know you press guys are all about the negatives and trying to tear this team apart, but we’re really excited to get a look at some of our younger players. Kyle has been out there, working hard, as has Devin, Tyler, Jamaal, and the others. We have a lot of faith in their abilities and it’s great for us as a team to give them a chance to shine this weekend.”
“This team showed alotta heart this weekend. While you guys in the media were trying to say they didn’t have a chance, we had faith in our new starters, and boy did they prove you guys wrong. Kyle had a great game, Devin came through in the clutch and Tyler and Jamaal both played very well. They played a full 60 minutes, took care of the football, did all the little things, and fought until the whistle was blown. They’ve really added to our team chemistry.”
“Now I know you guys want a QB controversy to sell papers or “get clicks” or whatever you do, but Patrick is our QB. We’ve got a huge game coming up against The Great Old Ones, who we’re tied with for the top of our division. It’s a make or break game, our backs will be against the wall, and, at the end of the day, there is no love lost between our teams. So don’t be asking any guys on our team for bulletin board materials.”
Two weeks left and I think the only teams mathematically eliminated are Martz and Overly? I sure hope the tiebreakers are clear or there’s going to be a 10-page revolution…
