SDMB FF Dynasty League: Year Three

If we held a redraft this year, with what we’ve learned with the whole dynasty thing, who do you think the top 12 picks would be?

Also, if anyone is going to be at the computer watching the MNF game tonight, use the little chat program they have at the bottom of stat tracker. We can discuss my greatness.

  1. Arian Foster
  2. Ray Rice
  3. LeSean McCoy
  4. Aaron Rodgers
  5. Cam Newton
  6. Calvin Johnson
  7. Wes Welker
  8. Matt Stafford
  9. Ryan Mathews
  10. Adrian Peterson
  11. Larry Fitzgerald
  12. Jimmy Graham

What a shift. Looked like Colston would’ve scored a 90 yard TD in that play they broke up, and it eventally ended up going to Graham. Very close.

SenorBeef defeats Stringer 144.35 to 138.55. He is our champion. And our role model. And the most fertile man ever to live. He could impregnate a tree, or a lawnmower.

Sooooooo frustrating.

Yeah, I hate it when SB knocks up my lawnmower.

I imagine that you end up with a non-functioning weed-whacker or at the very least a pair of idiot hand shears.

Buck up. Even raising my lawnmower children will probably be the greatest achievement of your lives.

I know it’s difficult now but eventually you will come to accept your new bovine overlords.

Don’t all rush to congratulate me at once!

I wonder if Kahlil Bell’s performance managed to convince Chicago not to match a potential huge FA contract someone tries to sign Forte to. I doubt it, but it would certainly be nice to have another RB1.

Nicely done, SB.

Congratulations! May your reign may be long and… fuck that!.. next year I’m winning!

I would burn Chicago to the ground. Forte is a perfect fit for the Bears and I think he might struggle going somewhere else.

They will franchise him. The only way they lose him to another team would be for a pair of 1st round picks. I just hope they get him for a fair price, and I think the Bears are smart enough to realize that a CJ2K/DeAngelo Williams contract would be as big a disaster as him leaving.

Every time I think I’m ready to reply to this thread I get mad. This loss will sting for awhile. Congrats though Beef, I’ll see you in a rematch next season.

A little presumptuous that we’ll both make the championship next year! The league should rage at you!

In other news, though, it’s week 17, which isn’t really significant in fantasy except that I’m still the champ.

Seriously though I miss fantasy already :frowning:

The fantasy gods will smite you both.

Me too. So let’s look at ESPN’s predicted first rounders for next year’s draft (you’re planning your draft strategy already, aren’t you?):

1. Andrew Luck* QB Stanford 99
4. Trent Richardson* RB Alabama 96
9. Robert Griffin III* QB Baylor 94
10. Justin Blackmon* WR Okla. State 94
17. Landry Jones* QB Oklahoma 92
21. Michael Floyd WR Notre Dame 90
22. David Wilson* RB Va. Tech 90
25. Alshon Jeffery* WR S. Carolina 89
27. Ryan Tannehill QB Texas A&M 88
28. Lamar Miller* RB Miami (FL) 88
29. Dwayne Allen* TE Clemson 88
30. Kendall Wright WR Baylor 87

Actually I’m going to be looking to package some players together to trade into the top 4 if I can manage.

Three team trade! Three team trade! Three team trade!

I’ve been thinking about my roster going into next season.

How would you rank my tight ends in a normal or dynasty draft?

I suspect both Gronk and Graham can have an ADP in the 20-25 range, maybe 20-30. Sounds crazy for a tight end, but only if you’re bound by convention.

No one would scoff at the idea of drafting receivers that put up 1219/15 and 1213/10 (with one game to go) in the 20-25 range, right? But they might scoff at taking a TE there. But that wouldn’t make any sense - having a tight end put up those numbers is way more valuable than having a WR do it due to the scarcity of value at the position.

Rodgers has consistently been the best fantasy asset to own every year, and the dominance of the top quarterbacks this year is going to raise his drafting position. I think he may be a late first rounder, in the 8-12 type range.

McCoy is top 3. Matthews will probably be taken in the 8-12 type range.

Jordy Nelson will probably be taken around pick 30.

Even Demaryius Thomas has come on strong since he got healthy, averaging around 18 points a game since he got healthy. He’s still a speculative pick 70-80 type of guy though.

Blount and Starks are hard to place but I don’t think they’d get past round 4, so top 50 picks.

So on my team I’d have 3 first rounders: McCoy, Mathews, Rodgers. I’d have 3 late second/early third type guys in Nelson, Gronk, and Graham. Two third/fourth rounders in Starks and Blount. So 3 of the top 12, 6 of the top 30, 8 of the top 50.

That’s a pretty dominating roster even in a non-dynasty league taking into account only current production and not their situations. Add that in, and it becomes an even more dominating roster. Every single one of those guys is young, most of them are in stable situations.

YOU ALL MOCKED MY AWESOME TIGHT END SQUAD.

Well two of them just both had all-time fantasy TE seasons.

So I drafted Demaryius Thomas with my 2nd round pick in year two, and he’s been injured the whole damn time. But I sat on him, and now look at him bloom. That’s one of the great, unique things about a dynasty league - there’s nothing like this sort of long term payoff in other leagues.

Thomas has been amazing for the last 6 weeks or so. Can you imagine a top 10 receiver next year with Tebow at QB? It can happen!
