SDMB Football Mock Draft

Yeah, I learned it was cecil after the hamsters finally got moving, but even then it was too late, once it was locked even his legit password was frozen.
In any case, I talked to the ANT sports guy and got it straigtened out.

Nurse C has drafted and we are moving again.

Heh-heh, yeah, but now Munch is on autopilot. Poor guy.

No, I put it on auto last night, just so it wouldn’t time out. I figured I could get through the first 4 rounds with my predrafts, and someone would take a couple hours - enough time to get to work this morning.

I’m not particularly amorous towards Peerless Price, but I think it’ll be fun to watch him and Vick in action this year. I’m leary of all the attention they’re getting, and the predictions being made, but I figure he’s gotta at least be worth trade bait and some decently consistent numbers, right?

I sent White Lightning an email, hopefully he’ll draft soon.

quick enough. hopefully omni doesnt take so much time again

I took awhile because the internet at work was down, and I wasn’t too excited at who was left. Remind me to do everything I can to avoid picking 12th.

I keep having trouble loading this page. Perhaps it’s cursed just like my draft. mrchan, the honour is yours (not sure if you predrafted, if so it could be much farther along…)

So far my team is loaded with good players who I happen to hate on teams that I love to root against (except Bledsoe). What a miserable year this would be if this were real.

Shibb, mrchan, you guys are so dang funny.

Brooks in early 6 is good. Antowain Smith in mid 6 is even better. We all got down on him after the last two drafts but he’s a great value there.

Sorry for the delay. Drinking and trivia on thursday nights.

I just picked for team the ghost of Nurse C’s team, too. WL is up.

I’m getting a 404 and I have to be asleep as of about 3 hours ago. If my time runs out before I get to work tomorrow I’m just SOL.

Looks like the site’s down to me, too.

Also, if any of you are interested, here’s a link to an article about the tragic stuff Joe Jurevicius and his wife went through during the playoff run last year.

IMO, he’s undraftable. Reports out of New England are that Kevin Faulk has been getting a whole lot of reps, and is learning the RB offense. From Fanball.com:

Yeah, I get a problem with the server message too. And here I thought the site figured I was too big an idiot to be allowed to continue. I feel a little better now.

And I think A. Smith may be done soon too, but I’ll be really surprised if they don’t find somebody other than Faulk to fill the gap. I’ve heard he’s fine as a third-down guy, but they don’t want him to be a full-time back. May be another dreaded RBBC, but they may also take a look at free agents and undrafted rookies.

I’d like to know the context of the Herald’s report. Was it a mini-camp story, or fantasy football conjecture? It seems to me that it is full of qualifiers, such as “may” and “could”. I see this all the time in fantasy magazines. They say “So-and-so might break out for 1400 yds and 13 tds”. Then, at the end of a big year by so-and-so, they can go back and say “See, we predicted that”.
FWIW, if I had to do it over, I’d probably take A-Train or Stacey Mack.

FWIW, Fanball usually does a very good job of real updates. They’ll scoff at mini-camp reports of “Player X is in the best shape of his career” and other obvious publicity stunts. I did a little digging at the Herald, and this is what I came up with:

The article is here:

I’ve found that fanball is good and quick with reporting news, but I take Kamela’s prognistcation skill with a grain of salt.

His review of Ladain Tomlinson from preseason last year:

ouch, that’ll leave a mark.

But, apparently he can spell “Ladainian” while I seem to not even come close.
