Okay, recently it has come to my attention that yet another rumor has been being spread about me. Normally I don’t mind rumors and generally ignore them, but this one not only hurts because it’s being spread throughout this place, but involves my children. And THAT is fucking horseshit.
Seems that SOMEBODY has been spreading some fucking shit about how I went to the Spiffled Dopefest, brought my children and left them in a hotel room all by themselves alone, while I was out getting drunk. Now for the facts.
Yes I went to Spiffled.
Yes I brought my children.
Yes I went out and partied with people I THOUGHT were friends.
My children were in a hotel room the entire time… WITH THEIR FATHER, Turbo Dog.
Amazingly enough, even with the picture of him and the kids in one of the collections, and the handful of folks who came by to see him with the kids, it doesn’t discredit this rumor.
Why would anyone want to spead this shit around? What kind of a fuckpillow would say this? What kind of fucksaw has such a jealousy streak of me to do something this fucking low? What I want to know is WHY you are spreading something you know to be untrue, and WHY you don’t have the courage to bring this up to ME but instead feel the need to run around in private messages and spread around some more fucked up lies about me than you already have, ESPECIALLY when it involves my KIDS!!! Let’s see if you have the integrity to come in here and admit to all what you did, KNOWING it was untrue. I know that it is at least one of three fucked up people who seem to have a problem with me. Have your jealous fucking problems with me, I don’t give a flying rat fuck, but when you involve my kids, you have crossed the fucking line.
BRING IT THE FUCK ON!!! For all the pretentiousness that you portray, put your fucking money where your mouth is. Lets also see if anybody who even passed this rumor along even though they didn’t start it, without finding out their facts, has the goddamned fortitude to admit it.
Funny that this happened, as I half expected it to happen even before we went there. It’s amazing that I can’t spend a day in another town doing things (shopping, movies, etc) with my kids while mom does something else without somebody having a problem with it. Of course, these are the people that had a problem with her even considering showing up in town in the first place.
Even though I expected it… I’m beyond words at the moment. The rant in my head would take up far too much space and what I have to say is best left for a face to face meeting in the future with one of those offenders. I also am interested to see if anyone can come forward without being called out. Somehow though, I doubt that will happen.
I have to agree with dropzone. Rumors can be hateful enough. Unsubstantiated rumors even worse. It was a shitty thing to do and you two deserve better.
Yes, hateful is one word for it. I’m just trying to figure out what exactly I did to deserve such a hatred of this/these people. I do enough stuff to generate rumors (truth-based) for people to have fun with that it’s beyond me why people have to simply make up lies. Involving my kids in something… that takes a special sort, that I will not let pass.

That is my attitude towards rumors about me, but in this case, they knew EXACTLY what they were talking about and that is was an outright lie.
I was one of the people who went to visit TM’s kids at Spiffled 2. TD was there with them. They are great kids. It was obvious they were having a blast. The connection btew TD and TM and the kids was as obvious as a face on Mt. Rushmore, and that’s something you can see in good healthy families. The entire CONTEXT of the visit was to meet TD, and express “Gee, we wish you could come out with us, but you can’t, YOU HAVE TO STAY WITH THE KIDS, so we wanted to pop in and say hello”. I’m speechless that such a vile rumor has surfaced. I’ve talked to TM, and she’s devoted to her kids. I agree with DZ, :mad: :mad: :mad:.TM, IM me anytime.

People who say things like that are small and insecure and only feel significant when tearing other people down.
Not that it excuses this at all. Especially since that’s the kind of crap that could possibly bring Children’s Services down on you and get your kids removed from your home while it was investigated.
The only things I’d heard re you/Spiffled are exactly what you said happened.
For ANYONE to bring up your children in the context of gossip,especially like this,is beyond low. It’s one thing to attack you but to drag your childred into it is complete and total bullshit.
That said-I don’t think it’s ok to attack you either-I’ve always gotten a kick out of your posts.

I stand with my friend Spiritus. It is a cold and dead spirit that will command its brain to feed such lies. Given the sometimes unreasonable panic these days over child welfare (kidnap now — ask later), I would hope that the administration will make it clear that SDMB will not provide the forum for these clearly baseless false witnesses and in fact will reprimand the gossipers in the most we-mean-what-we-say way possible. They should be banned. This is waaaaaay below trolling.
TM and TD, I don’t know you very well, but I see the evidence before me, and I stand with you. The mere fact that this so outrages you speaks to how much you love your children. God go with you.
That was a low class thing to do and though I don’t know TM or TD I am sure that they couldn’t have deserved that treatment.
This sort of crap is the exact reason why I shall forever remain anonymous in this and all other internet fora. I have met on-line friends IRL from other groups in the past and while it was a great time, the soap opera bullshit far outweighs the good for me. I have not been the source of any nasty rumors but I have spent too much time trying to clean up messes and be the peace maker I don’t have the time to get caught up in that stuff anymore.
I hope that the two of you get an email apology at a minimum or at the very least someone has learned a good lesson.
This is more than heartless. As others have pointed out, the implications of having child services get involved based on a senseless rumor (like that hasn’t happened before in this world) are far beyond jerkiness. To spread a rumor that has that potential is so low morally that it leaves me speechless.

TD, TM, I don’t know either one of you, save through your posts. It doesn’t matter: You’ve got my support. This is the kind of hateful crap I’d expect to see in middle school. Hang tough!
I don’t expect the cuprit will ever surface on their own, as this kind of attack is the purview of cowards.
Tequila - I would have to assume that these dickless wonders who are spreading this malicious rumour haven’t got the balls to show their faces here.
I personally would be seriously thinking of hunting these fuckwits down with a big stick or a competent lawyer, accusations like this are slanderous and some people don’t seem to realize that freedom of speech only goes so far.
Screw the e-mail apology, I would expect nothing less than a full public apology from the parties involved.
