I can’t remember the IP of my machine, you can always put in counterstrike.gamer-vision.com in the IP field and it should find it without a problem. That entry isn’t setup yet, so you’ll get an error currently, but it’ll be ready this evening when the server is active.
Also, I was hoping to find a few people in here who like to play things like EverQuest or Dark Age of Camelot. Ok, I’m actually looking for players in DAoC as it’s a lot of fun and much better with a few people to group with.
I played eq but verant customer service pissed me off to the point that I had to leave, I am not getting another life sucking game until shadowbane comes out.

When you make the server, it will tell you your IP usually, like say “Adding master server ...**:27015” I think it says your ip there somewhere. Anyways whats the name of the server?
holy crap I feel sorry for anyone doing this on dialup…from scratch the cs mod is a 2 hour download for me on cable, of course Im only getting it at 15-20kps so I could have just grabbed a crappy server but DAMN! 3 hours from install to being able to play is a long time.

get a filesplitter to speed (and protect) the download, and leave it on all night. if it mixes up halfway through, you can restart where you left off in the morning, so it downloads while you’re at work/school.
it wont let me play…it tells me I cant finish the conection or some crap. I also got some error along the lines of WSA(something I cant quite remember)NOTSOCK

Well, the Opposing Forces CD did have an update for Halflife, so I was able to get it running. Until I tried to download CS, at which point I was informed that I needed to download another HalfLife update, so I did, and installed it, and now it’s very not happy with me. Looks like it’s time to uninstall and get a fresh start. Oh, and the CS file is going to take 5 hours to download. Over DSL. Yay.
I haven’t played CS in ages and have since rebuilt my pc but this sounds like fun so I’m in. I’ll download the CS mod now.

apperantly there is an issue with won verification and new cd keys…in other words you may not be able to play at all if you picked it up recently. hell even if you got it a while ago you could have problems.

Urban Terror is very similar to Counterstrike, except with updated graphics (the levels look AMAZING). However, it is still in the Beta stages, so there’s some awkwardness to the physics (people still seem to “glide” over the ground instead of actually walking on it), and the sound effects are reall soft and muffled (instead of having the loud, cracking gunshots associated with Counterstrike). But there’re a lot of very interesting dynamics in UT that aren’t in CT.
I use Urban Terror as a “backup” for whenever I get tired of Counterstrike.
Hm, I’d be up for BGII, UT, Q3, StarCraft, and I guess I’m willing to learn CS. I’m assuming that counterstrike.com would be the place to learn a few tactics and stuff before jumping in?
