Serves me right for expecting my order to arrive on time to ship the package! I ordered something for my present, and it is late. Tracking says it arrived and it didn’t.
So I didn’t ship my gift to the recipient this weekend as I planned. If it’s not figured out by Tuesday I’ll ship the package with something else. Fingers crossed.
PS. I received my gift - but am waiting to open it. I can’t wait to see what’s inside!!!
EmilyG, thank you for the thoughtful card and gifts! I loved the miniature piano and guitar magnet, which is now residing on the fridge. The recipe box they were enclosed in will get good use as I am in the process of writing out our recipes onto cards so very timely (and pretty!). I didn’t get a chance to read the story yet but had a quick once over of it last night and like the style so I’ll definitely look at your friend’s site. Finally, thank you for the chocolates, I’ll save those for Christmas!
I really appreciate the thought you put into this, colour me impressed!
I am overwhelmed with your generosity. My very own Louisville Slugger – with my name spelled right!! That alone would have been a most excellent gift but you did more. Not one, not two, not three but four different kinds of tea. I fully plan to enjoy a cup of Silver & Gold tea tonight in last year’s exchange gift (Yes, Sir T-Cups, I use it regularly). Then tomorrow morning I will be spoiled with choices Derby City Green, Louisville Breakfast or Kentucky Morning. I don’t know which one I will drink tomorrow but, be assured, all will be sampled and enjoyed. On top of that I get the Bee Bar Lotion – that I have already opened and put on – it smells wonderfully of honey. I also get the wonderful candy from the Dundee Candy Shop.
Your gifts show thoughtfulness in giving. Thank you so very much. I am truly overwhelmed.
My package was sent Saturday. Sorry, but I couldn’t get here until today to tell you that.
In the meantime, I’ve received a very heavy package today. I haven’t opened it yet as I’ve been working up to a few moments ago. Wonder if I can hold off??
Just consigned my package to the tender mercies of the USPS. It’s starting it’s 6 - 10 business day journey to a far-off and exotic land, a land of mystery, romance and intrigue, a land of strong men and beautiful women who dare great deeds and bestride the earth like modern colossi.
Or maybe it’s just a place of ordinary men and women, going about their daily tasks, as unaware as any of us of the beauty that surrounds them. Still, the name of this place does stir in me a longing and a wanderlust.
I hope it will arrive by the 25th, but I beg my Santee’s pardon if it doesn’t.
I came home from running errands, went out to check the mailbox, and found a package from Minnesota. I took it in the house, and without taking off my coat, opened it to find a never-ending box of gifts.
First was the book, “Reading Asian Faces” which is a book on face reading (not limited to Asians). I intend to use it to figure out what my husband is really like because I figure that after 42 years I deserve to know.
Then a book by Gabriel Garcia Marquez that I’ve heard so much about, but have never read. Next was wool socks that have purple and yellow in them, which is difficult to find.
That wasn’t all, though. A lovely square of chocolate and a Christmas ornament that looks like a tree but is made up of green fish.
Finally there was a piece of sugar candy shaped like a lobster, and a can of lobster bisque soup. At that point I grabbed the box to look again, and it didn’t say MN, but ME. Not Minnesota, but Maine!
I love them all! The lobster candy will go first because sugar is one of the major sources of Vitamin S for me, but the chocolate will soon follow. Soup for dinner and socks on my feet while I choose a book to read.
