Should we start a new thread to highlight the move to Monday? I’m worried that people may have been interested, but haven’t been staying with this thread because it’s always on Tuesday and always at the same place up to now.
No. Soy muy contrite! We’re doing the last gasps of Lady Cheek’s birthday today and have family coming over. We’re workin’ on the Monday/Tuesday changeover, promise!

Maybe after tonight, when we have at least one more opinion on whether this is the place for us (at least until Interrobang!?'s class is over with). Personally, I like it a lot, but that may be greatly influenced by location, rather than the quiz itself.
inkysplotchy, who opted not to renew his board membership, will likely be there tonight.

As for a new thread – there are those of us (namely me) who don’t generally read MPSIMS and rely on email notification to see this thread. So if you do a new thread, be merciful and post a link in this one.
Only three of us at the Emigrant last night: me, inkysplotchy, and Saltire, and we came so close to winning… One bad guess on the final penalty round was what did it, and knocked us down to second place. As it was, we still took half the pot, because we won the middle Bingo round.
Upside: Rounds move very very fast. Not a lot of time to sit around and agonize about second-guessing ourselves. Also, I suspect that if we had a full complement of big-brained Dopers, we would have run away with the competition.
Downside: Smaller pot to win. Even if we’d won the whole shootin’ match, if we’d had six people there, each of us would have pocketed about twelve bucks.
I’m up for it again, at least until the film fest starts in a couple of weeks.
In this post in the Swampbear Dopefest thread, Aguecheek says he’s out of town today. But the rest of us are going to trivia, right?
I’m not sure when I’ll be showing up, as my work is sort of open-ended today, but I’ll be there before 8.
I’ll be there, arriving sometime between 7:00 and 8:00. (Depends on whether I eat dinner at home or at the pub.) When I spoke with inkysplotchy last night, he also indicated he’d be there.

Got a 5-minute break here. As Saltire mentioned, I’m in D.C. and am therefore hors de service. Lady Cheek, however, expressed some interest in going, so she’ll be sending an e/mail out to Interrobang!? to let him know if she’ll be there and maybe to get directions.

Are we doing the Emigrant tonight? I’m up for it, having rested from Saturday’s Swampfest. Who else.
I’ll be there tonight, likely sometime between 7:30 and 8:00.
This is the last week before the film festival, however. I suspect that’ll take Cervaise out of the mix as well.
After that (mid-June) I’m open to the George and Dragon again 'cause class is over. The Emigrant also remains an option, as does really just about anyplace interesting. The Wedgwood Broiler has trivia on Sunday nights…
I’m in tonight, but it’ll be the last one until mid June, as !? notes above.

Well, as one of the afore-mentioned swampfesters, I am hoping to show up tonight. I don’t know yet if I’ll actually be able to (car-scheduling issues with hubby), but I’ll try.

For stargazer and any other trivia newbies, note that since this is Monday we’re going to the Irish Emigrant pub in the U District, not the George and Dragon in Fremont.
I’m shooting for arrival around 6 or 6:30. I think I’ll be optimistic, assume we’ll have a fairly large group, and stake out a booth.
So, shall we plan on doing Tuesday at the George-n-Lizard (minus the movie nuts) next week?
Or I suppose we could talk about doing it tomorrow.
Victory! At least, we won the bingo round for the second time in three weeks. In addition, it was the fastest bingo in the game’s history, according to the quizmaster. He read out 5 answers, we got 4 of those right, and they happened to be in the corners of our bingo card.
For overall points, I think we finished in fourth place. Some of this quiz was nigh-on impossible (name all 15 hurricanes of 2004, for example).
The team, by the way, went under the name Smurphy’s Law, and consisted of the learned Interrobang!?, lovely and clever Mrs. Interrobang (who should come play more often), encyclopaedic Cervaise, smart-as-a-whip Inkysplotchy, and myself. We each scored a sawbuck for the win, which made for 400% profit on our entry fee.
I will be joining the **Aguecheeks ** (left and right?) at the George and Dragon tonight for the regularly scheduled Tuesday trivia. If anyone reading at this late hour either (i) is hungry for more trivia after last night’s victory or (ii) missed last night’s trivia and would like a do-over, please join us! I imagine we’ll arrive around 6:00 for preliminary beerage. Question time begins at 8:00.
