Secret Santa 2011

Got my Santee’s gift and it goes out on Tuesday.

Thanks again twickster for doing the matching.

I bought my Santee their gift. Now I just have to find packaging for it!

Mine shipped today!!! It’s coming from Sweden (maybe Switzerland??) though so I don’t know how long it will take to get here. Hopefully not long so it gets to my giftee in time.

Citizen Pained, your Santa wants to know if your son’s peanut allergy would prohibit me from sending chocolates that had been made in the same facility as peanut stuff? I can’t find any chocolate that doesn’t say that on the package!

Let us know.

Thanks,

twickster, Head Santa

For future years, there is apparently a service that makes these easier to arrange (another group I’m a part of is doing a gift exchange through it, which is why I know about it)… it’s called http://www.elfster.com and AFAIK it’s free. Just a thought for maybe next year, so that one person isn’t burdened with running everything. I just found out about it and figured you guys might benefit. If you want I can tell you how it all turned out when it’s over so you know if it’s worth using.

My giftee’s gift just got here today and will be hitting the mail on Saturday! Wheeeee!!

Oh, that’s never been an issue. Just not full on contact with nuts. And he’s not allergic to tree nuts, just peanuts.
It was rather random I stepped into this thread! Also, yay, candy. :stuck_out_tongue:

Present bought.

Gift shipped! Hope the santee likes it!

Mine is ready and going out in the morning!

Apparently I’m an 11 year-old boy because this made me laugh hysterically.

I’m going shopping tomorrow.

Gift for my Santee is ordered.

someone is very excited about the secret santa, and has a turbo sled. i believe i maybe the first recipient!

when i gathered my amazon packages this evening, i was very surprized to see a sdmb secret santa package as well.

of course i opened it as soon as i could upon reaching my abode.

a big thank you for reepicheep!!! 2 fantastic ornaments (the flamingo is on the front door!), 3 yummy looking confections, and a real florida orange!

i love the card, christmas at the beach looks like a nice laid back good time.

well done reepicheep!

Lucky. Now I’m jealous. I don’t think I’ve ever been jealous about a Secret Santa before.

Gift for my Santee has arrived! If the post office is open tomorrow when I get off work, it will go out tomorrow. If not, will be sending it Monday.

Feliz Navidad!

i ate it last night. it reminded me of when we visited my greataunt dora in florida. she let us pick all the citrus we wanted from the back yard.

my mum was enchanted with the idea that you could go out in the morning and gather orange juice. as we continued our trip to miami, she became less enchanted as we encountered a “love bug” swarm? infestation? convention?.

Mine went in the mail yesterday. This is my favorite part, where we get to hear about the goodies!

And rocking chair, I think it is a “coitus” of love bugs.

Rocking Chair so glad you are enjoying your gift. I had great fun picking it out. The reason for the candy is that when the nice people at the post office ask “Is there anything liquid perishable or hazardous?” I could then say “Yes there are the Florida candies with coconuts.” Thus telling the truth but not the whole truth. It is somehow against post office policy to ship fruit – I think because it can go bad. That is also why the orange was bagged several times. Again very glad you are enjoying your gift.

Lovebugs – what would Florida be without lovebugs? BETTER! There have been mornings where my car had so many lovebugs on the windshield that I have to use the windshield wiper spray and wipe 4 times to get the bugs that commit suicide by windshield off. A little know fact about lovebugs is that if one stands outside, in lovebug season in a red top the lovebugs will be more attracted to you than if you are in a blue or white top. Science project for board kids.

Mine came in the mail today and I am torn between opening it now or waiting.
Thank you Secret Santa!
