So you’re saying we bore HRH???

So you’re saying we bore HRH???

Either that, or my Doping persona is so incredibly boring that she can’t help but fall asleep!
Off to work. Hockey mtonight.
I’m off to work, too.
Mine didn’t pee on the floors last night either! This has been the first morning in a week where I didn’t have to clean up a mess before I had coffee. He managed to get himself out the pet door and down the stairs and was snuggled up on his blanket right outside the door with 2 of the cats when I got up. It was a warm night too so he wasn’t even cold.
I’m up and the coffee is brewing. I wish it would hurry up.
Last night we talked about completely breaking down the fish tank and cleaning it today. We’ll see if it really happens. I hate doing that, but it needs to be done.
We don’t have any other real plans for today.
Tomorrow, we’re supposed to go to a friend’s house to watch the Superbowl. I don’t have any real interest in the game, but it’ll be nice to socialize, I guess.
Hugs and smooches, y’all.
Chicken in the pot boiling for chicken and dumplins. Laundry in the washer. Go me!
I’m about to kill ReboSon. He just called and said he fucked up his car. Two flat tires and the front rim is definately fubar. AGGGGHHHH!!! I was so pissed I just told him I’d call him back when I calmed down. (Obviously he’s ok, and though cops got involved, he did not get a ticket or GO TO JAIL. Thank God for small favors.)
Later…
Rebo sometimes childicide is justifiable. Just sayin’…
I want some chicken 'n dumplin’s. MMMMMMMMMMM
Ok so no big deals at Circuit City but I did find a sale on ink cartridges for the printer at Office Despot, so there’s that. Plus Chinese for lunch…
Many find comfort in the presence of your company
<snerk> away!
I prefer to think that we are a calm and stabilizing presence in her life.

Sorry about ReboSon’s troubles.
Of course, I couldn’t fall asleep again, so I knitted some more (getting quite close to being done; I’ve got a softball-sized amount of yarn left), had breakfast, watched a couple of episodes of Psych on hulu (cute show). Now I’m going to do something productive (I renewed my Wall Street Journal subscription - had a free year through airline miles and decided I really liked getting to read it nearly every day. Much more interesting than the local paper (which I still read). Don’t read either of them really thoroughly, but it’s nice to have dependable reading material on the bus. I’m going to allow myself 15 minute knitting breaks to get control of the addiction :D.
Speaking of which - forgot to respond to cj earlier - yes, if you haven’t been on Ravelry, you should go. You have to wait a few days for them to add you as a member, but it’s a very nice site. I found a hat patternthat I’m going to modify to go with last week’s scarf (they have a lot of cute hats that don’t look all that hard to knit (I may live to regret that statement). You can organize your yarn and needles and projects in your account. They have a bunch of forums as well. Haven’t looked at much beyond the personal tips and resources ones.
Off to not knit. Really. Now. Soon.

What the heck gt, I’ll get us started this week… I’m sure I can come up with something!
I’m still surrounded by critters–we kept Callie overnight as daughter’s having the carpets cleaned today and doesn’t want little Ms Dirtytoes zooming around when they’re still damp. The logistics of feeding three enthusiasts instead of two is a little daunting pre-caffeine, but it’s better just to get their tummies settled before attempting anything useful.
Grandboy and I had a total veg-fest yesterday–he played some computer games on the media box since Himself’s ‘puter was busy with work, we brought home Papa Smurfy’s pizza for dinner and Jr really wanted some of their cookie dough–I got him some but stipulated he HAD to actually BAKE them rather than just snarf the dough so he did. Didn’t do too bad a job, either, aside from not knowing he has to preheat the oven and also kinda needs to read the instructions to know how hot to set the oven. I did NOT eat even a single cookie! Then we watched “My Name Is Bruce,” which is about as sillyass a movie as a Bruce Campbell production could be expected to be, and then we watched “Tropic Thunder” as well, which had him rolling on the floor giggling like a loon. He went home around eleven and I fell asleep on the couch after Himself and I caught up on “Battlestar Galactica.” Just an excitin’ evening at the SmartAleq house!
Today I am going to clean this damned house come hell, high water or the wrath o’god! Too many doggie footprints on the floor and there’s furballs everywhere that are no longer attached to a critter. Disgraceful, I say!
Hey all … I’m here but feeling punkish; I’ve got a bad cold with a lot of head congestion, sneezing and a very sore throat. So, I went looking for cold/sore throat remedies. I’ve been gargling with saline solution, which has helped some. But tops on the sore throat remedy list is apparently apple cider vinegar, either straight or mixed with honey! There’s also cayenne pepper mixed with warm water! Has anyone tried either of these? They are for sore throats, btw. And oh yes, anyone know of any remedy for sneezing/runny nose? Heh, I’m seriously in need of help!
Of course, this means I’ve pushed back my ambitious plans to make lasagna and pulled pork barbecue, because I need a few more things for both and haven’t made it to the Safeway yet to get them. I also don’t really feel much like making them either, unfortunately.
Sorry to hear about ReboSon’s troubles, although don’t blow a gasket about it if you can, Rebo. I know, easy for me to say! Heh, I have a 21 yo son too, though, and he can be infuriating to me at times.
Well, I’ve calmed down a lot. He went to the scene to try to figure out what happened, and he thinks he might have had a blow-out which caused him to veer over into the right lane and hit the curb.
It’s the money. Damn, we’re not made of it! It just seems to be always something with him.
Deep breath.
He will have to find a way to work until Monday when Mr Rebo can get over there and see what needs to be done. Tomorrow Mr Rebo is entering a Super Bowl Chili Cook-Off! Should be fun. Then I’ll come home and make something edible for the game.
Hopefully we’ll have some chili, and I’m making wings, celery, carrots with bleu cheese dip, and Rotel cheese dip with Fritos.
Right now I’m off to a Dopefest with Little Nemo and others at a Chinese restaurant. Should be fun!
Trogdor struck Pirateville again this week, taking out a frat house.
The last time Trogdor visited, he burned down an old tobacco warehouse the same day Obama came to speak at the university. This was back in April.
I was wondering why EVERY COP CAR, AMBULANCE AND FIRE TRUCK IN THE COUNTY was blocking off three streets yesterday morning.
We watched Caltiki a little while ago. If you haven’t had your cheese quota for the week this’ll do it.
A radioactive blob rampages (well as rampagy as an oozy blob can get) Mexico City. It eats flesh but leaves the entire skeleton intact. Seriously. It ate a guy in a wetsuit. Wetsuit and skeleton entirely intact. Pretty good trick for a blob!
Heh. What’s that tik-tik-tik sound I keep hearing in here? Thanks, gt. I’m not a knitter but I’m definitely going to let my aunt know about that site. Then she can spread the love.
We’re off to the neighbors for burgers on the barbie in a little bit. Watching Pink Panther on TV. Ay ope newbuddy feuns.
Did I tell y’all that my root canal turned into being a cracked tooth (from the prior root canal) with a raging infection behind it? The tooth came out, oh no, part of the root broke off! So the dentist rummaged around with a medieval looking tool until he had extracted the broken root. As he dropped the last bit of root onto the table he announced the the tooth next to the tooth which was no more, which had the first root canal, is also cracked, but "Hopefully we can build it up enough so we can use it to secure a bridge for the tooth that is no more. Am I making sense? No? Blame it on the percoset. My face is all swollen up on the left side and I am running a low grade fever, not complaining, as the pain is less with the tooth out, but with my face all lopsided I am keeping myself at home! I will shortly be snuggled under a blanket and watching something mindless on the teevee. There’s a chicken simmering in the soup pot, and there shall be carrots, onion, celery and garlic, and floating on top shall there be dumplings. With a freshly baked apple crisp for afters.
Regarding dogs and diapers. If you have a male who is becoming incontinent (or if you have a marking problem) I use belly bands on my males. Using a diaper on a female to avoid pregnancy will generally wind up with a litter underfoot. It’s a good way to keep the estrus mess off the furniture and the carpet, but it won’t stop a male from breeching it. If you would like more information on belly bands in particular and diapers in general, please email or pm me.
Yay for the Vunder’s winning the court case, may you collect simply and with no issues.
Venison truly is a lean meat, most of the fat is laid atop the body sort of like a saddle, and it gets pulled off and nailed to the trees for the birds to enjoy. The fat off a game animal is where a lot of the gamey taste lies. The backstrap (the bit that runs along the spine, loin? Tenderloin? It is quite tender and allows itself well to pan frying, usually in bacon grease. There are some other bits that lend themselves well to cooking as you would any beefsteak, but there is plenty which needs braising or stewing. The bits we grind for hamburger always have beef suet ground in with t he meat. Then there is sausage making, and that’s another story!
Ima go lie down now. Maybe watch the snow fall. So, so sleepy…
Hope you feel better really soon, kai. Tooth trouble is really no fun at all, is it?
And good healing vibes heading out to you, too, tarra. ::Sends chicken soup through the CD drive::
Thanks for volunteering, smarty.
I’ve been almost good. Sorted out a bunch of stuff to get ready for taxes. Collected stuff up for recycling. Put other stuff together for bill payment and general financial planning. Did all of this while sort of watching the Last Templar on NBC.com. It was…ermmmm…not good. But, hey, I was getting stuff done while semi-watching it, so it’s not like I really lost the time.
And I did knit a bit. And get a bunch of items bookmarked. Need to add some more yarn and needles and projects to Ravelry, too. And get some more pictures taken and uploaded.
Guess I’ll do that next.
Back later.

We just watched Brokeback Mountain. We are probably the only two gay men in Amurrka that had not seen it yet.
The movie was my purchase at Circuit City. I enjoyed it. Not a bad movie.
Oh and dindin was hotdogs. Gourmet all the way we are!
Ok, off to do ummm… other stuff
Nitey Nite Y’all!
At the rescue station, pickin’ my butt.
Now that I posted this, all hell will probably break loose.
Back home at last - we were gone about 12 hours!!
We went to the clay supply place and I got the tools I wanted, plus some other things. I was going to get some red clay, but they no longer carry it, so I may order some on line. We shall see.
Afterwards, we drove thru town and past my old neighborhood before taking the back roads to Mom’s. My sister got there just a few minutes ahead of us. Mom had a bunch of stuff stacked up in the basement for a yard sale, and she gave us our choice - daughter and I came out with a bunch of stuff, including an ice cream maker.
We had lunch, visited, and I introduced my mother to the time-waster that is YouTube. On the way home, we got stuck on I-95 for at least half an hour. A truck or SUV towing a travel trailer was on its side, blocking 3 lanes of traffic, so 4 lanes of the interstate went down to 1, further slowed by all the looky-loos. I was enroute to MamaTig’s place so I called and told her what was going on in case she had plans for the evening - I’d just leave the helmet liners hanging on the door handle. As it happened they were home, but I just gave the sack to PapaTigs, and daughter and I went to a really bad Chinese restaurant to eat.
Anyway, we’re home. Ice cream has been ingested. I need to go take my meds. It’s been a long day… <yawn>
Incidentally, swampy, what kind of beer do you drink? I know you don’t get it free any longer, so what do you get when you’re payin?
I saw Brokeback Mtn - thought it was kinda stupid and boring. I couldn’t see what the big to-do was about it. Guess I missed the deep symbolism or something.
