We saw Kung Fu Panda a few weeks ago, and liked it a lot. Dustin Hoffman was the best in the voice cast; his “Focus… focus!” to Jack Black had my sides hurting.
What a long day - already! I only got about three hours sleep last night. I was keeping Dad company, and trying anything I could to keep him calm. (Rubbed his shoulders, feet, deep breathing with him, etc.) Nothing worked. Finally it stopped around 4:00 am. This morning I took him to the doctor, and he prescribed some Xanax, to be used sparingly. Doc said the steroid ointment wasn’t the cause, and that maybe he’s just scared of having a stroke, and it comes out in weird ways. I don’t know what to think.
I’m halfway convinced that just having the Xanax will help calm him down. We’ll see.
Dad’s napping now, and I’m trying to get sleepy so I can get a nap in, too.
I finally sat down and did our taxes and my partner’s is done and e-filed and since he took all of the mortgage and property tax deductions this year it was the longer one. Mine will only take a few minutes but I’m still waiting for my W-2 which of course my old employer will mail out 15 minutes before the deadline. We’re going to get a very big refund this year which made it worth spending a beautiful morning inside to get it done.
I haven’t cleared the driveway completely from the last snow, now we get more last night? Screw it, this one’s going to have to melt for the driveway to be passable, I’m done.

Yesterday, I wrote her at about 10 AM and said, “hon, after I workout, I’m going to go to da hangout to have some wings and beer.”

Last night, as I came home (not even late, I should add), I told her that one of the guys there offered to take me to the DePaul/UConn basketball game tonight. I got one of those "whatever"s that only a pissed off woman can deliver.
Now, today, all I get are one word answers to everything and anything.
I guess I’ll work on being Mr. Perfect Husband some other week.

My daughter sent me a link to this video by Gabriella Cilmi–Aussie chick with a set of pipes on her, sounds a lot like Amy Winehouse without the trainwreck lifestyle and looks. Saucy little minx… The rest of the vids I found were much more generically poptart-y but I have hopes there’s more like this to be had somewhere or sometime…

I thought the movie was great except for one important flaw: There were no outtakes during the closing credits! All kung-fu movies, especially those with Jackie Chan in them, have outtakes during the closing credits. Even the animated ones. What a missed opportunity!
I usually get all my papers to my accountant by April 5th. Last year for the first time since I’ve been paying taxes, we had to file for an extension, and even then I gave him my stuff at the last minute. This year I intend to surprise him by emailing eveything to him before the end of February, maybe even sooner.
It started snowing here around midnight. When I woke up there was almost 3 inches, but Tenant cleaned off my car and cleared me a path. It snowed steadily the whole commute in. By the time I got to work, there was about 5 inches of snow. By midday it had changed over to rain, and when I left work, the only snow to be seen was in the piles shoveled and plowed to the sides. That’s the kind of snow I like: the kind that disappears almost as soon as it appears.

We too were blessed with all kinds of snow and slush and ice. Just about everything was closed. But not the State of Ohio. I’m grateful that I ride the bus.

So I guess the skin tight muscle shirts with the hand embroidered nipple cutouts to show off the new jewelry are also a fashion faux pas?

My tummy hurts from crunches. Guess that means I need to do some more… groan. I’m acquiring some bellydance workout videos to change up to because them thar calisthenical things can get owwie. Not terribly aerobic, either. I ordered my new elliptical trainer today, w00t! On the bummer side, I had to wait for a check to come in to order it and I was planning on getting a different model, but in two days they raised the price on the other one by $25 on Amazon and that was the cheapest place around! Dammit! Oh well, the one I’m getting is good too…
Um, took 25 minutes and 2 men shoveling and pushing my car to get it unstuck THREE TIMES and out of my parking lot and onto the main street. I just can’t get too excited about snow in this case.
